My toro wheel horse tractors & riding mower 31-12K801 312-8 keeps backfiring when I am mowing the lawn and stops and will not turn back on until you let it set for awhile. I had replaced the spark ...
I had a mower with exactly this behavior. Mine had a 14 HP Kohler Engine. After considerable frustration, we replaced the electronic ignition module, and it has worked perfectly since then.
