The code for malata dvd player is 0782 but when i tried it didnt work. i used the code search method and it worked for me. the only problem i have is that the buttons are mixed up for example, the "menu" button opens the disk tray. so far this is the only way i could get it to work with the rca remote.

Hi. We have a Sony dvd player dvp-sr200p and have a wide screen tv, when we play a dvd we get a small square picture with black sides. We would like the have a full picture like we had before. Could...

With the player in STOP mode, or without a disc inserted, press DISPLAY on the remote. Then press either the UP or DOWN arrow keys (on remote) to scroll down from LANGUAGE setup to SCREEN SETUP, then highlight the aspect ratio which best suits the connected TV, in this case 16:9 widescreen (according to the manual the default aspect is 4:3 letterbox). Once you have made the change, exit the setup. It should remember the setting you have made.

Pages 26 to 27 of the owner's manual illustrate the setup procedure for this model DVD player.

NOTE: some DVDs may be encoded as 4:3 titles, hence you will see black borders at the left and right sides of a widescreen TV. Not all DVD movies are encoded in the 16:9 aspect ratio.

However, you can check your player's setup menu just to be sure.

It sounds as if you have inadvertantly locked your dvd player. Try using the code 136900. If this passcode is accepted, then access the general setup menu (using your remote) and choose the Disc Unlock option.

I hope this helps. I completely relate to the frustration of this very problem.

Hi,
Remote code for Sony dvd player would be written in user manual of One for all remote control.
Let me know model number of your remote to provide you code info for Sony dvd player and you can download required manual from One for All Support, select model number of remote in drop down list to download related manual that has all codes list.
Thanks.

Can I copy photos to a DVD and have it work in a TV? Can I put .jpeg files on a DVD and then put it in a DVD player and have the photos displayed on the TV?

Yes.
Most DVD players made since 1999 are .JPG compatible.
Create your DVD in the computer, without folders...just drag & drop the pic files to the disk for burning, and insure the burner is set to "Finalize" the disk just like making any movie disk.
Your DVD player will recognize the files, and play them in slideshow format.

I would guess that it's an incompatible disk format. If your burning software allows you to pick different types check the Philips manual for a compatible format

Need unlock code.

I found this region hack here Sony DVP-NS575P region code , check it out:

"Warning
The following guide describes how I managed to make my Sony DVP-NS705V DVD player multi-region.

There are no guarantees that you will be able to do the same. Be aware that you will probably void any warranty you have and possibly even break the player.

Put shortly, you proceed at your own risk.

Introduction
First of all, the Sony DVP-NS705V can be made multi-region simply by applying appropriate service codes, you do not need to install a so called "mod chip".

This supposedly applies to the entire NS-series of Sony DVD players. There are some encouraging reports out there supporting this, but nothing has been verified by me. Again, if you choose to apply this guide to any DVD player, you do so at your own risk.

If you do find that this procedure works on another model, please drop me a line at sonyhelp@selen.org and let me know. Include the exact model number and original region of your player.

Update: Some users have reported success on the following players:

Please note that not all players behave exactly like the NS705. For example, some players do not display "success" when hacked.

Thanks to all who have contributed.

The infrared service codes required to make the update are available on the Internet. Unfortunately, not many people have an appropriate device to enter the codes into. You basically need a programmable remote (Philips Pronto, One-For-All) or a PDA (Palm, iPAQ) with suitable software.

This guide shows you how to make the update with a regular PC equipped with an IRDA port.

The procedure

1. Download the winsamp -package from Blank Frank's site.

http://www.veg.nildram.co.uk/remote.htm

This innovative piece of software allows you to send standard home electronics IR signals using a PC IRDA port.

2. Extract the package onto a bootable DOS floppy disk.

3. Download this IR code

http://www.selen.org/files/REMOTE.TXT

file and place it in the same directory as the package above.

This file holds the five necessary IR codes converted to the format used by Blank Frank's winsamp.exe. Please do not bother Frank with questions concerning this particular procedure.

4. Boot up your PC from the floppy disk and run winsamp.exe.

If your IRDA port doesn't appear as COM2 you may override this by using an appropriate command line switch. For example, use COM1 by running 'winsamp C1'.

5. Press the 'r' key to load up the codes into winsamp.

6. Make sure your DVD player is in standby mode and your IRDA port is within range.

7. Run the IR codes from 1 to 5 by pressing Enter on each corresponding button.

8. Your DVD player should start up and display the text "SUCCESS".

9. Repeat step 7. Your player should return to standby mode.

10.Your player is now multi-region."

Need to turn OFF progressive scan on Sony DVD DVP-NS57P

With the remote: While in STOP mode, press the DISPLAY button. Use up/down buttons to select SETUP. Press Enter. Use up/down buttons to select CUSTOM.Press Enter. Use up/down buttons to select SCREEN SETUP. Press Enter. Use up/down buttons to select PROGRESSIVE. Press Enter. The manual is a bit indistinct after this, but I think the prompts will direct you. Just turn Progressive OFF.
