Question about Cooktops

Open Question

I have an omega ceran cooktop model CCT1BB and cannot get it off the childlock setting unless I turn off the power at the mains. You can then reset the childlock but have to go through the process of switching the power off each time. Can you please help? Frances E.

SOURCE: Need an instruction/installation manual for

Hi!!
I tried the model number on the Omega site and it does not come up. The first link is to the three 60cm cooktops available. Once you identify your cooktop, click on the second link to look for your owner's manual.

http://www.omegaappliances.com.au/ProductManuals.aspx
I am pretty sure the installation and operation manual for at least one of them, should work for you.
You can also file a form requesting your manual. It is under Customer Support.
Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!!

they have cleaners that you can apply and buff the scratches out . no need to replace it . unless you like spending money rather than time and elbow grease

Whirlpool schott ceran induction plate doesn't get hot

magnetic gradeI have a SCHOTT Ceran glass ceramic cooktop as well, and soon realized that induction cooktops like this require that your metal cookware be in contact with the surface for them to heat up. Best cookware:
  • Cast iron pans
  • Any black metal pans
  • Stainless steel pans, if base is magnetic grade (magnet sticks to bottom)

Just purchased Ilve Ceran ceramic cooktop. Is V364X the cooktop model number? The outer are of the left front burner does not heat up

You may already be aware of this but ... If our ilve ceran cooktop is the same as yours turn the knob past the 12 setting till you feel pressure and it springs back. This is the switch to fire up the marked outer elements.

My miele induction schott ceran is being locked, and I can not open it to cook??

Hi,

If you have an illuminated red key symbol on the cooktop, press down where the illuminated red key is, for about 5 seconds. This method works on many Schott Ceran / Miele cooktops including the KM443 listed above.

If this doesn't work, please let me know the correct model number.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

How do i clean my cooktop on a whirlpool 465

Light Cleaning
  • Clean your CERAN cooktop after every use. To remove simple spills, wait for the surface to cool before beginning the cleaning process. Pour a small amount of cleaning cream on a damp paper towel and wipe the cooktop surface until the soil and cream are no longer visible. The cleaning cream will leave a protective finish, which will preclude scratches and other types of damage.
  • Heavy Cleaning
  • Wear a heavy oven mitt to remove burnt foods or liquids while the cooktop is still warm. Use the metal razor scraper to remove the substances that are stuck to the cooktop surface. Once the cooktop has cooled, use a damp paper towel to spread a small amount of cleaning cream over the entire cooktop surface and wipe it thoroughly until the cream is no longer visible. Rinse the cooktop with water and dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Cleaning Melted Substances
  • Remove melted plastic, foil or other kitchen products immediately using the metal razor scraper. Spills containing sugar, such as ketchup, tomato sauce, syrup or pudding, must also be removed with the metal scraper at once. It is best to remove these substances while the burner is still hot. Once the melted substance has been removed and the cooktop has cooled, use a damp paper towel and cleaning cream to complete the cleaning process. To protect your hands, remember to wear a thick oven mitt when cleaning the hot cooktop.
  • Tips
  • Scratch marks resulting from daily use will not interfere with the performance of your cooktop. Pots and pans with flat bottoms and those that cover the entire burner surface are recommended for use on your CERAN cooktop.
  • Warnings
  • Spills containing sugar may permanently damage your cooktop unless the substance is removed immediately. Use only the recommended cleaning products on your CERAN cooktop to protect it from damage. Do not use scouring pads, plastic coated sponges or abrasive products of any type. Do not use oven spray or any other type of cleaner containing ammonia or chlorine. Clean all spills thoroughly before using your cooktop again.

Bosch Ceran Schott hob. Number in top left corner

We have this exact same problem, and I've not managed to track down a manual (we rent and the landlord is on holiday).
I've tried holding down all buttons for a time, combinations of buttons, and turning it off at the mains, but no joy.

    Did you ever solve this?
