Orion SpaceProbe 130ST EQ We cannot use the telescope because we cannot focus the 25mm Sirius Plossel eyepiece. When we look through the eyepiece, we see nothing. What should we do? Thank you.

You CAN focus the eyepiece-- take it outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

Make sure the end with the FOCUSER is on UP end of the tube. The mirror is the BOTTOM of the tube. Many beginners mount these scopes upside down!

Galileo Astronomical Telescope D=118/F=1000mm manual

Doubtful you will find the exact manual as these are made in India. However this is very similar in operation and assembly to several other brands. Take a look at this video-

These are simple to assemble and use once you have seen it done. Try to find a local Astronomy club whose members will help you with the scope.

Aberrations are seen when I view the stars...kind of look like this: -----<o>----

Those are called defrraction spikes --- and really do not affect the view. Stars are always just points of light.

Make sure the scope is collimated- watch this video:

Hello... I'm kinda new to all this, so please bare with me! I recently purchased a used Orion Skyview 6 Deluxe EQ. The scope is in great shape and things look great through it. However, it did not...

First WHY would you use a erecting DIAGONAL in a reflector style telescope. Upside down images are completely normal for an astronomical telescope. You only need this diagonal for terrestrial viewing NOT for star gazing. ALL astronomical telescopes show upside down and or inverted images- it's completely normal.

If you cannot come to focus with the erecting diagonal, it's probably because the diagonal moves the eyepiece too far OUT away from the point where the scope comes to focus. Again-- you do not use those for night time sky viewing. Just stick the eyepiece directly into the focuser.

How do focus the telescope

That all depends on what telescope it is, but generally you line it up with whatever you are trying to view, then you start with the biggest eyepiece you have (say you have a 9mm, 12mm, and 24mm; you should always start off with the 24mm) then gradually bring the mm size til u get to your lowest or however far you need to zoom into

So with the Newtonian design scopes are you supposed to stand up the whole time to use it?

Depends on the distance from the ground to the eyepiece. I use a step stool that has three steps and a platform on top - and still have to stand some times. Stand, sit, the scope don't care either way...

Telescope view

It's not in focus--- turn the focus knob slowly in and then out until you get a sharp image....... use the lowest magnification eyepiece first-- that's the one with the LARGEST number written on it.

HI All I noticed theres only one way to mount a orion spaceprobe 3 eq telescope onto the tripod. This equatorial reflector seems like its mounted upside down when tring to view things. Tech support is gone...

Not upside down---

The eyepiece and focuser is on the FRONT of the telescope. Light enters the tube-- hits the mirror on the bottom-- and bounces back up to the small secondary mirror which reflects it out to the eyepiece.

It's called a Newtonian design--
