You dont want juice getting any further down into the laptop than the keyboard, as juice will cause circuitry failure.(leave itupside down on the towel if it just happened) . Fortunately laptop manufacturers sometimes account for this and put rubber guards under the keypads. I will go find you a pic of how to get the keyboard out so you can clean it on your model, watch for the comment.

    STEP 1
First of all, turn off the laptop and remove the battery.
I'll start disassembly with removing the keyboard (Steps 1-6).
Using a sharp object carefully lift up the plastic bezel above the keyboard.

    STEP 2
    Remove the keyboard bezel.

    STEP 3
Remove four screws securing the keyboard to the laptop

    STEP 4
Carefully lift up the keyboard from the laptop.

    STEP 5
Access the keyboard cable connector located under the keyboard.
You have to unlock the connector and release the cable before removing the keyboard.

    STEP 6
In order to unlock the keyboard cable connector move the locking clip towards the LCD screen. Its Grey in the picture below.
Move it only about 2 millimeters. The locking clip must stay attached to the connector base.
BE VERY CAREFUL THE GREY CLIP ONLY MOVES 2mm
if you break it you will need to replace the Mainboard

now that you have your keyboard out you can try to finish cleaning the keyboard, with some windex and paper towel, without risking getting any more juice or what not inside the computer.

lastly, if this happed a few days ago. you will need to order another keypad for your unit, sometimes these can be found on ebay for less. Until you get a replacement use a usb keypad and mouse.
If this happened a few minutes ago. Clean it as best you can with paper towel , windex or glass cleaner. and use a can or two of compressed air to blow out between the keys really well. Then leave it disconnected for a few days while it dries. The longer you wait the better you chances it will work again. you can use the USB keyboard and mouse while it dries granted you dont touch ANY of the other electronics while you are using your laptop in that open fashion.
Hope that helps you. Best of luck
    Gurvy!

How to get the keyboard to work properly after spilling juice on it?

It is virtually impossible to clean or fixed a keyboard that has liquid spill on it. You need to replace the keyboard.
Replacement keyboard for your model laptop maybe available from this WEB site.

My Toshiba Model L505-S5993 laptop won't read

Hello there,

The problem is that the Drives lens is already bad and cannot read any disc, no matter the type of disc you put into it, it wont read it still. The solution is to replace the drive. Replacing it is the best way to solve the problem. If not trying to replace the lens is going to be futile as the lens for the driver is not available and when you install a new disc drive, it will have to install the drivers software.

If you replace the lens, the laptop wont be able to install the drivers of the lens as it reads it alongside the driver itself and if they are not compatible, it wont install the drivers software. So my best advice is for you to replace the CD drive.

My laptop is a typical example because my disc drive is also bad. And i had to replace the drive and not the lens.

Hope this was helpful to you.
Goodluck

Toshiba Satellie L305D-S5974--spilled orange juice on keyboard, keys sticking, speakers not working...what are my choices

When this happens, you should fully disassemble the laptop & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of liquid on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, liquid damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no liquid seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.
If the liquid fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you will have to replace the keyboard.

Toshiba laptop keys stick

Could be some residue from a spill on the keyboard, or could be some old rubber thats not flexible enough. If you carefully flick a key off, you can investigate what's going on under there. The keys snap on and off rather easily. If you see anything sticky on there, use an electronics cleaner, or even some rubbing alcohol on a damp cloth or que-tip to clean it up. Recommend turning off computer completely and removing battery. And go easy on the cleaner :-), liquids and electronics do not play nicely together!

If none of that works, might have to start looking for a replacement keyboard for the laptop.

The sugar goes into the contacts and permanently deamages the keyboard. NOT REPAIRABLE. The laptop keyboards are not very expensive. You will only get that problem solved by replacing the keyboard.

Spilled juice on my H P Pavilion laptop keyboard, keyboard is not working at all. Please help!

Do you have an HP Accidental Damage extended warranty? If you do, you can call HP's tech support and get it fixed/replaced.

If you don't have the extra warranty, you can try to carefully pop the keyboard keys off and carefully clean underneath as the contacts below the keys are possibly stuck in the down position.

You may have to take it to a service centre and have a technician open up the laptop and see if it can be cleaned and try to "unstuck" the keyboard keys.

Spill soda on my laptop keyboard

It is likely the only problem is that the soda is causing the keys to stick. There is probably no damage to any other internal components. Usually, laptop keyboards have a metal-based frame/tray that will protect the internal components from minor spills.

If you want to get rid of the cracking sound, you'll need to purchase a replacement keyboard from the laptop manufacturer or another source such as eBay, and then remove the sticky keyboard and replace it with the newly purchased one.

Spilled juice on Toshiba Laptop keyboard; now keys do not type at all! is there a way to salvage it without having to buy new replacement

Dear v1ndic8d,

Spilling juice on your laptop is not always the end of your laptop. The best you thing you can do is to order a new keyboard. Go to eBay and enter the model of your laptop plus the word "keyboard" and purchase a new one. Make sure you read the description and the language, etc. Replacing the keyboard itself is not that complicated either. You may very well be able to do it yourself. Return to this site when ready and we'll help you replace it.

Good luck.
