If you're using windows:

try to uninstall and reinstall your cound card driver

-right click on My Computer
-choose Properties
-select Hardware tab
-click on Device Manager
-under Sound,Video and Game Controller look for the device in question(the one with punctuation mark)
-right click on it and choose uninstall(take note of the device name before un-installing, you might need it if you want to download a driver for it)
-re-install your sound card driver after

you can find the driver at driverguide.com

if this doesnt work youll have to open up your PC case and rmove and clean the contacts or your sound card and reseat it again...or move it to another slot...

hope this helps

Sound not coming in win xp sp3 even after updating correct sound driver?

Do you still have the unknown device in device manager? If so, you need to install a different driver. If not, go into device manager, expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. For each device under that heading, right-click the device, then click update driver software, choose "Search Automatically..." It will then go to the windows update site and see if there is a driver there that is listed as more recent, and it will install that driver, if such a driver is found. If that doesn't work, make sur ethat y ou manually find the correct sound driver installer, and then right-click whichever device obviously represents the sound hardware driver, and click Uninstall. Reboot afterward. Then reinstall the audio driver. If that doesn't work, you may have to reinstall windows.

Tip

My sound driver stopped working after working for at least a year.

Open Control Panel
open device manager
ensure that you have the proper disk to restore the sound device driver
delete sound driver
restart your computer
if the sound is not repaired, use the sound device driver disk to restore the device driver

In my Destop system Audio Sound is not coming

Check the device manager for any conflicts with the drivers. There would be "Other drivers" listed if there was any drivers that were not installed correctly. If there is any listed try right clicking on them and selecting to reinstall drivers.
To get to the device manager:
Right click on my computer or Computer > select properties > then click on hardware tab on top then device manager or click on device manager link.

Sound drivers under Vista

Need more info. Are you making sure that the Sound card shows in the Device manger as good. Did you make sure here are no red or yellow Icons next to the sound card device in the settings in device manger. Have you tried the headset in another device, I.E. MP3 player? Are the sound setting muted or turned down in the Creative profile or sound device settings?

Sound device not working

Please try to check the sound device status if its working properly thru right click My Computer icon > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > (double click) Sound, Video & Game Controller OR System Device > System Speaker. also, take note of the Troubleshoot tab. If still it doesn't work, I think you have to reinstall the sound driver (from its motherboard software CD if it's built-in type). best regards

No sound

did you check that your pc is having sound drivers installed or not
or they are working good or currupted

here is how you can find out
go to my computer right clik it
select property
go to hardware
select device manager
here in new window you can see all installed devices
find out "sound, video and game controller"
now click + mark on leftside of it
it will drop down the list of available sound/ video devices
if you dont see any sound device then you have to install sound drivers
if you see any sound device but with yellow with it then its installed but not working properly
in that case also you need to install drivers once again

find this out
