Question about HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer
When I turn on the printer it starts making a loud whirring sound that comes from the right back corner. It sounds like something is spinning and hitting up against an object multiple times (roughly 3 times in quick succession). When I open it I can't see anything to account for the noise. There are no error messages. It sounds like it is trying to print.
I do have the same problem with my psc-2175. I opened it and recognized that the problem is with the scanner unit. There is a sonsor in this unit which locates the scanner lamp at the beginning point when you turn it on. When this sensor fail to function, the electric motor, which moves the scanner lamp will not recognize where to stop and it works without any stop. So it pulls lamp unit into its borders and make the noise you hear.
I wanted to let it repaired, but I found out that it will be very expensive and it is better to buy a new set. I have bought it in Iran 1600000Rls (170$), and the repair cost is almost 750000Rls (78$).
If you find another solution please let me know, my email is: firstname.lastname@example.org and my name is Soroush Asarzadeh.

sounds like when it wasn't printing properly, you tried to print several times, not realising that prints which were not printed at the time were being stored to print when the printer was available.
you need to check the print queue, by clicking on the printer icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen(by the clock)
you should be presented with a list of pending documents, which you can delete or suspend as required.
if the printer icon cannot be found next to the clock you can find it under START>settings>Printers
