Question about Clarion CALYPSO SIRIUS Radio Receiver

Open Question

I have a Clarion Calypso plug and play both for car and boom box. I move the unit back and forth. Monitor now says "acquiring signal" but never does. The message remains on the monitor. This happens whether the unit is plugged into the car dock or the home boom box. The unit is 5 or 6 years old. Thank you.

I am no longer getting a signal (it has been saying acquiring a signal) for 2 weeks now. i have only had this system for a year

It's the antenna. Is it still plugged into the unit? Where is the antenna located? Try moving it to another location.

Replace battery h700

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below step -
1. Make sure you actually need battery replacements. Wrong use of the unit can lead to faulty functioning. If you have recently bought the device, charge the unit for approximately 2 hours and let the unit drain its energy completely before recharging to give the maximum battery life span.
2. Turn off the unit before attempting a battery replacement. Without doing so, the power disruption that the headset will acquire can damage the internal workings.
3. Find the even **** on the bottom side of the unit, where the microphone boom is attached.
4. Place the edge of the flathead screwdriver along these slits, and twist gently back and forth until the unit opens up. Do not completely open the unit up, however.
5. Find the small ring near the plug and the mini-USB port. Use the screwdriver to push under the ring where the battery is found. Push forward gently to pop the battery out. Please post comments for more help or information.........

Good Luck!!

Where do the RCA jacks plug into on my clarion VRX755VD DVD playe

in the back of the unit where all the other wires are. they might be dangling out with the rest of the wires or they might be flush with the unit

    Park brake switch

If you have the old firmware then all you need to do is ground the parking brake wire..

if you have the new firmware(just bought the system) a toggle switch is involved:
1 - connect e-brake wire from dvd unit to the switch
2 - connect a ground wire from switch to the unit chassis(any good metal grounding surface will do)
3 - pop in a dvd, toggle the switch back and forth 2 or 3 times depending on what wire you placed where...and voilaa!! your dvd system should work in motion!!

Only door speakers have sound on the cd mode

the amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)

you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?

    Clarion Calypso display dim

I have this exact same problem and I have solved it by the following method. Open the unit (2 screws), remove the silver box (3 screws and gold pin connectors), and remove the circuit board (2 screws). You will see the screen is connected to the circuit board by a ribbon cable and two poles with metal connectors that actually go through the circuit board. One of the poles moved freely in and out of the circuit board on my unit, the other was still fixed in place and could not be removed easily. I found that when this pole was fully connected, the backlight functioned and did not when the connection was broken. I soldered the pole in place which solved the problem (maintained the connection).

    Power up boom

The turn-on "boom" is caused by the amp getting the remote turn-on signal too soon after the head unit turns on. Most amps need a bit of a delay between them for the internal circuits to stabilize. Some amps have a built-in muting circuit that creates its own delay, but some do not. It looks like you have one of two options:
    1. Buy a pre-built delay module, like these ones.
    2. Build your own delay circuit with instructions from here.
    Hope that helps!
