Question about Panasonic Lands Phones

I am trying to change the names in the company directory when someone calls after hours or all lines are busy. I cannot find anything in the user manual for the Panasonic KX-T7422 or the KX-TVA50 Voice Processing System. When I transfer a VM to one that I thought I had changed the owners name at her extension it is blank even though when I check it it says her name as owner.

The directory can be in two places. One is the Panasonic automatic directory that is reached by dialing #1. It is taken from the subscriber recording their name in mailbox setup.
The index is found by you entering the first 4 letters of the person's first and last name. It then plays the name from the appropriate mailbox. That's modified in mailbox 999 the system Administrator's box.

The second directory, is one that you establish as part of a custom calling menu. If it is there, it's probably one of the first 5 custom service menus, as the box assigns them in ascending order from 1.

All lines are busy


They probably are, then you need to wait a few minutes and keep trying. Or send a letter and let the person or company know that you are having a problem connecting by phone. I have called different companies at different times, and sometimes you can wait a half hour or more trying to get through. Just know that in most businesses, Mondays and Fridays are always the busiest day of the week. So try your call on Tues, Wed., or Thurs., when not so busy.

User logon error for 2004


From quoted information from Peachtree's KB system:
Go to Task Manager by pressing the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys and on the Processes tab look for W32MKDE.EXE, click to highlight and choose End Task. If W32MKDE.EXE is not shown, close Task Manager.

Go to Start, Find or Search for conn*.* Be sure you are searching the DATAPATH for these files.

Select all connco and conndp files from your datapath and choose delete.

Since you are using Peachtree First R2004, you will then need to go to Start, Run, and type in PFA110.INI and hit enter. This will open it in Notepad.

Scroll down to the [Options] section and look for the line ShowStartup=No, change this to read ShowStartup=Yes.

Look for the line LastCompanyOpen=[company name] where [company name] would be your last company opened company name. Delete the FULL company name after the equal sign.

Look for the line LastCompanyOpenShort=[company short name] where [company short name] would be your last company opened Folder Name. Delete the company folder name after the equal sign.

Select File from the menu bar and choose Save. Close the ini file.

Open Peachtree and select one of the sample companies. After the sample company opens, select File, Open Company and open your company data.

In NBX 100 3COM phone system cannot take calls from out side as user busy signal comes. There are 10 channels. but none of them are busy. When checking the cause code the 17 code is visible. This happened...


I know this is old but maybe it can help someone else.
The line cards are "hot swappable and don't always reset with a reboot (especially a Digital Line card) you should try to re-seat the Line card after the system has booted up. This is done by unscrewing the black knobs at each end and then sliding the card out about an inch. Wait about 10 seconds and plug it back in. It takes about 2 minutes for the card to boot and synch with the phone company. Try your call again. If it's still not working after about 5 minutes, check the card in the phone system and make sure the channels are idle. If they are, call the phone company.

Millions of Skype users were unable to make calls for several hours on Wednesday because of technical problems that the Internet telephone service is still trying to fix.

Some users were unable to log in. For others who were already logged in, the service simply crashed.

Skype said in a blog post that it started investigating the problem after noticing that the number of people on its service was unexpectedly falling. Fixing the problem may take several hours, the company said, adding that it may be longer before other features like group video calling are restored to normal.

The troubles come as Skype, which spun off from eBay last year, prepares for an initial public offering. Meanwhile, Tony Bates, Skype's new chief executive, is trying to find new ways to make money outside the company's main business of charging users to call from their computers to landline and mobile phones.

The failure does not exactly help Skype's sales pitch to consumers as an alternative to traditional phone carriers. Nor does it reassure businesses, which Skype is trying to court as customers as part of its expansion plans.

Usually, Skype's service is problem-free.

Skype said the downtime was being caused by "supernodes," which are computers that "act a bit like phone directories" and enable callers to connect with others. Many of those "supernodes" - of which there are normally a large number - were taken offline by a problem with some versions of Skype's software, the company said.

Engineers are working to create "new 'mega-supernodes' as fast as they can, which should gradually return things to normal," Skype said.

Later on Wednesday, Skype posted a message on Twitter saying that its service was gradually returning to normal, but that it would still take several hours for all users to be able to sign in again.

Skype has 124 million active monthly users, as of June 30. Of those, only 8.1 million pay anything.
Mr. Bates has described himself as a fan of Skype's infrastructure, which has handled as many as 25 million users simultaneously.

The recording you need to change is the "name in the company directory".Thats done by entering thier mailbox pressing the admin soft key then pressing the number 1, saying both thier first and last name and pressing ok.

Sounds like you shut the CCR tree down. Go to AA>table>1>CCR>chng>1>enable. that should take care of it

REPROGRAM USER NAMES PASSWORDS


This will be an incomplete answer because you asked an incomplete question.

The first pat of your question involves access to the voice mail system. You can change it from a PC with software to access the system, or from the system manager's mailsbox (999). WHen the system was installed, you should have been given instructions and a password to that mailbox. You log into the manager's mailbox and select options 6 then 1 then 1 to edit or 3 to reset the password.
Easiest for you is to reset the password and make each mailbox owner do his own name, password, directory characters, and greetings.

There are at least 2 ways to get someone's call to voice mail. The first is by setting call forward at the phone. That's the *710x (VM) # that you dial from the intercom. My voice mail system is at ext 165, so I use *7104165# to send it to VM only when I don't answer. The 4th digit options are 2 for all calls, 3 for busy 4 for no answer, and 5 for busy/no answer. Once you set it, the FWD/DND button functions as a selector.

The second way is, if you know the person is not going to answer, you set up a VM Transfer button.
That's where you take a spare button of the 24, label it, and dial the following. PROG press the button 94 (VM) ENTER. Again, mine is 94165.

The 3rd way involves system programming and has to be set up by the system installer. It involves extension intercept and has timing parameters and destinations that need to be programmed.

Company directory


Hi, if you are still having this problem you need to re-record the NAME on the mailbox as well as the greeting. On the Stratagy voicemail system, from the main menu after logging into your mailbox, choose option 3 then 6 to record your name. Hope this helps, ....Mitelmike
