Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

Posible hibination or something else

I have a toshiba 1710cds and I use winxp I left the computer on as I was looking at a page for contact info. Some time later perhaps 2 to 3hrs I remembered that I did not turn off the computer so I tried to get up the system but to no avail. I did remove the power source and the batery but still no joy I do have a green light on the front indicating that it is on and a amber light flashing for the battery. I do not know the details of the function keys and if the key is there I need info for the use of these keys. But can you give me some advice. Thanks

http://www.4shared.com/file/oE15gXll/killdisk_and_boot-cd-iso.html
get this from my shared drive(read instructions in there)

and wipe your disk clean (Warning...this process will make you lose all data on disk so be careful, if posible backup all critical data that you need)
once done install WinXP SP3(get a Windows XP cd from a friend or download a pirated copy from net) look for "WinXP SP3 piratebay" in google

when installing WinXP make more than 2 partitions (C, D, E)
Install WinXP in C
once done, let Windows boot and show Desktop
install WinVista or Win7 in D
use E for saving your critical data

You can download any/all the Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Please click on this link: -

Is there sd card drivers available for my satellite m55-s325

If you are using WinXP or later, you shouldn't need sd card drivers. Try installing the latest software for your media reader from http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/sm50flashx.exe

I have some how deactivated my touch pad

power cucle your computer make sure that you turn off ther computer completely.

if still the same then you need to uninstall the youchpad driver under uninstall program. look for the Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

I check the model of your computer under the toshiba wesite and I found out that you have a synatipcs driver.

Then go to this link to download the driver
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2175704&rpn=PSLB0U&modelFilter=L300-ST2501&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

Note:
The touchpad still works even without the synaptics driver. Once you uninstall the touchpad driver and still yur having the same issue then it is a posible touchpad issue means the hardware itself.

Why have 1 colerfull line on my screen???

This could be one of three things

It could be the LCD Panel malfunctioning, the cable to the monitor has come loose or the video controller is malfunctioning.

Either way, this is not something you are going to be able to fix on your own. Your best option is to Contact Toshiba about warranty repair or bring it to a computer repair shop in your city.

Posibly in Hibination

Does the system power on at all? (Fans spinning, CD-Drive clicks, etc.)

1.) If so, try removing the battery and unplugging the wall power. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds, plug everything back in, and try it again. If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged (no battery no wall plug) for a day, and then try it again.

2.) If not, try unplugging the wall jack and the battery, and then try booting the system after plugging in JUST the wall jack (leaving the battery out.)

Stand by icon locked Toshiba Satellite 1115-S103

i really need more info, two things:

firstly look to see if the clip (where the screen clips onto the base when it closes) is mobile and is not jammed down from something.

secondly restart, if a image comes up in your POST (when the computer boots up) push tab and then F8 or similar (it will say just read the screen = ] ) and restart windows in safe mode.

when you have booted up in safe mode check in the display and power window and tell the computer to never go into sleep or hibernate.

like i said i need more info cause this can also be caused bu a hdd contact error, or a battery falure, so please if this does not help in the slightest just post up here more info and i will be happy to help further.

good luck.
