My daughter just bought an xbox 360 pro, we do not have a desk top computer at home, we have lap tops she has a mac and we use the Version wireless card to access the internet. how the hell can we hook up the xbox live? We went and bought a router that didn't work, and we keep getting different stories from everyone we talk to. Please HELP I don't want to run around town every night after work trying to figure this out. Thanks so much for your help!
Actually it was easier for me to connect the 360 up that way... didnt even need a router... the ethernet cable to the laptop, sprint mobile broadband aircard, and the download at microsoft to upgrade my windows media player to Media Player 11.
just upgrade windows media player to version 11 and go in its options and choose to 'share' the 360 will appear choose YES and the xbox does the rest...

Re: Xbox 360 pro
Because your using laptop computers and a mobile carrier for your internet services this will be a little harder then normal but not imposable.
First what you would need is a ethernet switch or hub. This should allow you use the laptop with the Verizon card as a "Gateway". You would then connect the Xbox 360 to the hub and it would share the internet from the laptop.
Windows XP, and Vista have nice networking wizards that can walk you through the settings. But be aware you may need to change the settings back when you are not using the Xbox 360.

hi , the only thing ull have to do is take it in , it shows red light it has basically crashed . It happens to all x box 360 at least once a year .Sometimes twice depending on usage , dont think it cost anything ,just postage to xbox factor and it will be returned .Cll in to ur nearest gaming centre and the will sort it,or google xbox for details hope i answered ur question
Try a factory reset.
Go to the system info screen under console settings. HIt Left trigger, Right trigger, x, y, Left bumper, Right bumper, up, left bumper, left bumper, X.
If this doesn't work you can take apart the HDD and check the cable attached to the HDD. Inside the shell of the 360 HDD there is a 2.5" lap top harddrive. The cable attaching it to the connector that goes into the top of the xbox may have come loose.
I'm not sure if you can connect an Xbox 360 to the internet with a lap top. What I would do, is get a router (guessing that you already have one). But if you don't, it's basically a splitter for Ethernet cords. You plug the router into the Modem (the box that makes the internet), buy an Ethernet cord, plug it from the router to your Xbox and you should have internet. Or, you can get a wireless router, and get a network adapter for your Xbox to get internet wireless. But I don't think you can just get internet from your laptop.
you need a laptop or pc with wireless built inand an ethernet cable, right click your wireless adapter icon then click properties, click on the advanced tab and make sure 'allow all other network users to connect through this computers internet connection is ticked, plug in your xbox to your pc with ethernet cable and turn it on, then click on library in media player11 and go to media sharing, tick the share my media box and your xbox should appear there.
Hope this helps.
Ram and Harddisk space are two different things. You can not upgrade the ram in the 360, but you can add a Harddrive to it. It does have to be a 360 hard drive though, all the retailers that sell the console should also sell these.
Your settings on your PC may not be set to allow sharing to your 360. The way I do it, is I download windows media player 11, imported my itunes library and my movies I had on my PC and allowed sharing via media player. These steps can be seen in more detail by going to www.xbox.com/pcsetup
