I had a similar problem a few years back, and the repair man came over and fixed my sky box. Now it has re-curred, and my sky box is no longer under warranty. I Had ice build up on the back of my unit. However, I do not know what he did to get to the back of the unit to rid the ice.

Water is leaking into the fridge from the freezer. It is a top freezer with ice maker

It's likely due to a problem in the defrost drain or a leak in the ice maker. You may be able to solve such problems quite quickly, possibly in just a few steps. Have the owner's manual available to help you find

Some models have a selector switch to allow for a manual defrost cycle. If your freezer has this setting (check your owner's manual), ensure that the switch wasn't set to defrost accidentally. If the freezer was in a defrost cycle, check it in about an hour to ensure it is working.

When the defrost system kicks in, frost buildup on the evaporator coils melts and water is collected in a trough beneath it-more than usual. It is funneled through a defrost drain tube or channel down the back of your refrigerator and collected in a drain pan, where it is then left to evaporate.

Often, the defrost cycle turns off before the water can finish draining, and the refrigerator continues to cool. Ice buildup then forms along the system, and eventually water collects and puddles in the bottom of the refrigerator as melted ice continues to drip from the evaporator coils.

If there is ice buildup, allow the unit to thaw:
1. Remove food from the entire unit, storing it in coolers packed with ice, and remove the freezer shelves. Unplug the unit.
2. Using a screwdriver, remove the panel inside the freezer at the back to access the evaporator coils and trough.
3. Leave open the doors and allow the ice in the trough and along the defrost drain system to thaw by itself. This should take several hours. Note: Keep plenty of towels around and be prepared for the drain pan to fill quickly.
4. When thawing is complete, replace the panel and restore power to the unit. When it is cooling again, replace the food.

My everstar portable airconditioner is not cooling down my apartment at all, and there is ice forming in the back

Yep its soundss iced up shut it down and leave the fan on if you can. remover the filter and clean it you might have to wait for the ice to thaw from the coil to remove the filter. wash the filter out well set the thermstat to 70 degrees and leave it there, also close any unused rooms if possible check/ wash filter monthly

The freezer is not cooling and all items in the freezer have dethawed, The Fridge part is cool but not as cool. This started last night and 24 hours later everything defrosted.

hopefully you still got it plugged up to check a few things.... if so here we go...
1st is there any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer wall inside unit... if so then we know the compressor is still working and you got a defrost problem going on most likely one of these three parts /the heater has failed, the defrost thermostat has failed. or the defrost timer has failed... you can check the heater by gaining access to the back wall of freezer remove shelfs and the remove back panel of freezer there will be a heater down at bottom with a wire on each side make sure the unit is unplugged at this point and that you take a hair dryer and thaw ice test heater on each side with a meter checking for contuinity through heater to make sure no broke... the defrost thermostat is mounted to the coil in same area prior to thawing gain access to wires if there is ice around thermostat which is round and clips to coil has 2 wires again unit unplugged adn prior to thawing check for contuinity as if there is ice around it it should have closed... if both them are good you most likely have a bad defrost control/timer. if there is no ice on back panel is the fan in freezer section working when the door switch is closed listen ,is the fan in the back of unit working ,is the compressor running have you heard any clicking coming from back of unit if so that would indicate a bad compressor relay on will require to be replaces.... not much description in your post but hopefully one of these tips help you get a diagnoses. good luck

Freezer is not defrosting

1. Remove all of the food from inside the freezer and place it into the ice chest. Use more than one ice chest, if necessary. Cover the food with ice from a 10 lb. bag of ice. Alternatively, place all of the food from your freezer into the refrigerator compartment, packed tightly together.
2. Place one or two 10 lb. bags of ice into one or two large bowls inside the refrigerator compartment to keep the food chilled. Keep the door to the refrigerator tightly closed and avoid opening it during the freezer defrosting process.
3. Unplug the unit and leave the freezer door open.
4. Let the freezer defrost overnight or for at least eight hours.
5. Use the towels to wipe up the melted ice.
6. Plug in a hair dryer and direct it to the interior of the freezer to melt any remaining ice from the walls and door. Be sure to direct it into the vents of the freezer, too.
7. Wipe up any water from ice melted with the hair dryer from inside and around the freezer.
8. Plug the freezer back into the outlet, and return food still solidly frozen to the freezer compartment from the ice chest or refrigerator. Use any thawed foods within a day or two or discard.

Not cooling

Cooling fan, behind internal plasic panel is frozen up, happens with me regularly, self defrost function not working properly, i'm just fixing mine as I write. I have found that bottom drain hole was all full of ice also. Have cleared with anti-freeze/hot water till runs through. Take out all shelves, remove back panel, there are screws behind chrome bezel and also inde-odoriser recesses (those two square plastic covers). Unscrew plastic water chiller, be careful not to damage pipes. Remove the back platic moulding, unclipping wire connectors and cooling fan is fastened to back, it will be frozen up with ice! I use hair dryer/ de-icer to thaw, dry off as much as possible. Beware, moulding is mainly polystyrene, i.e fragile. I suspect that I keep getting problems because I didn't clear out the bottom drain hole, so it did not defrost. Tell tale sign is noisy fan (hitting ice) which eventually freezes up and stops blowing cold air which causes fridge to stop cooling, compressor still works though!

In the frezzer ice is forming under the floor and dripping down onto the floor of the refrigerator part under the veg drawers

first remove the floor and back wall of the freezer. remove the ice from the floor and drain pan careful not to damage the evaporator and drain pan. to the right of cener on the bottom of the drain pan is the drain hole. use a turkey baster and hot water to thaw the drain, you should hear water dripping into the drain pan when thawed. install a heat probe whirlpool part number 819043. or wrap a thick piece ( about the size of a pencil lead) of copper wire around the heater located under the evaporator. make it long enough to go about 2 inches into the drain. don't let the wire touch the sides of the drain hole or touch the bottom of the tube, this will prevent the drain from freezing. i recommend using the heat probe from whirlpool but the wire will work too. hope this helps.

Drain in freezer plugs up

sometimes can be solved by loosely coiling a piece of solid copper wire around the defrost heating element and down into the drain a little. the radiant heat on the wire during defrost cycle may help keep the drain open
