hello i was wondering if anybody can help me out here, recently my att unverse dsl nvg510 modem redlight (wifi setup ) is flashing red and sometimes flashing green. my internet is running good, all the device that connects to wifi is good also. and also i unplug the power for few minutes and plug it back in and still that redlight keeps on flashing. nobody can answer my question. thank you
1. Unplug the modem and leave it unplugged for at least a minute, then plug it back in. 2. If that does no good, try the RESET button on the back, using a paper clip or pen point. The reset will probably only work while the lights are still on - so try to press in the button pretty quick.
From my limited experience with this problem, the answer can be yes. If you cannot unplug the modem power plug and reattach it, and then make it "set up" and work, the problem is either a bad line feed or bad modem. The easiest thing to do is try another modem...that will verify if the line is good. If the line is bad, comcast has to fix it for free, to provide your service. It your modem is good, you won't have to replace it and buy another one(however, they may charge a service fee, I'm not sure if or how much- call them and check first). Hope this helps.
hey red light on modem usually means modem is in bad state in this case kindly try to do power cycle way to power cycle disconnect all the cables and leave the modem for 30-50secs then try and connect power cable first then connect the dsl and then ethernet and see if that resolves the problm,
Please check if the POWER light on your modem is solid RED.
Because if it is, your modem is already defective.
If you purchased it from your Internet Service Provider, contact them to check if your modem is still in warranty so they can replace it ot not.
If you purchased it from near computer shops near you, they it's time to buy a new modem.
*if the DSL light on your modem is blinking..
TRY: using different filters// check physical connection
IF: not resolved call ISP for a trouble ticket for their line department
*if all the lights constantly blinks
DO: purchase new modem, maybe deffective already or check if modem still under warranty so provider can replace it
NOTE: plug 4100 modem directly to the back of the computer tower without the linksys router and check if light status still the same...
HOW: cable connected from back of modem shud be plug in directly to port at the back of PC tower.. completly remove linksys and turn linksys off..
try shutting of your computer then shutting off the modem, the modems have batteries you might have to remove them theres usally a panel on the bottom, in the back you should have a wire for comcast cable and an ethernet chord telephone too if you have everything. also your modem could be broken, i had the same problem
If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue
