Re-install the OS using safe mode to gain access to Boot sequence, you'll grow old and grey trying to figure this one out.
But before you do that.......

........( Put the hard drive into an external drive case and extract all your important files )

Then start anew.

sounds like the Hard Disk is failing. try booting into safe mode by Pressing F8 Before the Windows 7 Splash Screen. The run diagnostics on the C Drive. Open Recovery by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type recovery, and then click Recovery.
You can use Recovery to restore the state of your computer's system to a previous point in time, or restore the contents of your hard disk from a backup. You can also reinstall Windows from a recovery image installed on your hard disk.

I was doing an "update" and when it asked to

Sounds like your update went didn't work right. This could have been caused by a corrupted update file that Vista tried to install or you might have a hardware problem (i.e.bad hard drive). Try running the Dell diagnostics. Do you have any CD's thatcame with your computer? If so, look for one that has "Diagnostics and utilities"listed under the "Contents". You will have to boot from that CD disk. To dothis, power on your laptop and tap the key to bring you to the "Onetime boot menu". Insert the CD and then select CD/DVD drive and hit key. Select the "Run the32 Bit Dell Diagnostics". Next select the "Express Test" and see if any errorsare detected. If no errors are reported, then your operating system software isprobably the culprit.

I have a inspiron i1011-26600bk and its telling me a message that says Loading PBR for descriptor 2...done. What should I do?

"Loading PBR for descriptor 2 ... failed" would be the exact error message if the MBR is unable to load the partition boot record for the second partition. There may be more, but here are three possible causes:
1) the partition table is corrupted so that the descriptor points to the wrong place (i.e., says the partition is one place when it's really somewhere else);

2) the partition table descriptor points to the right place, but the boot record there is corrupted or has been erased;
3) The hard disk is failing and having trouble reading the sector with the boot record.

To check (1), visit www.goodells.net/dellrestore/fixes.htm and download the dsrfix utility. In short, if dsrfix reports a clean bill of health, then (1) isn't the problem.

To check (3), run hard disk diagnostic tests. Press F12 when the machine is starting and see if the bios boot menu offers you a hard disk diagnostic test that you can run. Or even better, if you know the brand of the hard disk, most manufacturers should have a free diagnostic utility you can download to test the hard disk.

If it's not (1) or (3), then use Ctrl+F11 to run the Dell restore utility to recreate the Windows partition.

Dell optiplex Does notb Run. Switch Button is blinking. Powerb Supply is ok. Ram ok. I use Another good power supply but same problem Power Button blinking. Whats the solution.

The next thing to check is your Motherboard. Remove all devices (hard disk, cards, memory, etc) just the motherboard connected to the power supply, just to see if the motherboard is working right. Your should be hearing a beep sound indicating that the board is alive. If yes, you may reinstall the rest of the devices you removed.If no, replace motherboard or processor.

Have a dell dimension 4700 with orange steady light?

Turn the machine off and unplug the AC power then hold the power button in for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power. Plug it back in and turn it on, when you see the Blue DELL word press CRL+ALT+D and this should run a diagnostic on the hard drive. If it runs ok you will get a pass or fail on the hard drive. If you cannot get the diags to run you might have a bad power supply or motherboad/processor. I would find a known good power supply and try it before the motherboard.

Last Night I use my PC for 4 hours but after that i turn off properly but when in the morning i try to on my PC it didn't turn on when i press the power button nothing displaying for me only one light is...

First of all when you switchon your PC, checkout whether your processor Fan is running. Because problem might be because of SMTP failure [Power Supply in your CPU] if its working fine and you are able to see LED glowing in *********** board, might be loose connection in your Hard disk cable.
Let me know this didn't help you out or if you need more info.

DISK BOOT FAILURE

If you reinstalled the memory correctly it should fire right back up. But try this, when press the power button, hit delete and go to set up, under PC management find the Boot Order String, select the Floppy as the first device if you have one, the Hard drive as the second Device and the CD/DVD as the last device. Should go straight to the hard drive as the primary boot device. Hope this helps.

Compaq Presario SR1000 desktop boot up problem

nothing to do with the ram ... this motherboard sometimes locks, ( dont ask me why) but if you take out the power cord for 5-10 minutes and then press and hold the front power button on the machine (about 10 seconds) it will reset the board. Plug in the power cord and the basic items, sound, video etc ( some usb devices tend to stop it booting to) boot into windows. Then add the rest of your usb devices ..
