Question about Televison & Video
A few suggestions here---The S does not mean anything.
Are the chips as you look from the back on the board on the far left facing the front of the set?
To determine if the chips (which can) are causing your problem, unplug set, mark all the plugs on that board and remove the board--now unsolder all pins on both chips (18 each) and put board back, if it comes on convergence will be very bad but you will KNOW if the chips are bad.
I can offer instructions on what to do. STK-392-110 CHIPS are used in many sets---they are fine, if you find they are bad and want to upgrade use STK-392-150, NOTHING ELSE.
Taking the chips out of the circuit will tell you if one of them is bad. Most of these sets use two voltages to the chips protected by pico fuses (not usually glass) if one is blown the set detects no voltage and also shuts down.
If you are lucky and take them out of circuit and set comes on you may just have to replace both.
Keep in mind I am in California and available here from 10 - 9 pm pacific time.

The power led blinks because the source is in protected mode - there's a fault/short on one of its exits and the protection inside the power source has shut it down.
What that fault is can only be found by opening the tv, but on one of this age the capacitors are the first things that pop in my mind. The STK IC's from the convergence board are the second so replacing them is a good idea. Yes, you can use these, the S is there to notify that the circuit has an insignificant improvement over the standard IC - smaller polarisation current. needed)
