Unfortunately, you can't use two routers together in that manner. You must have a device in between them such as a switch or bridge or you'll have to disable the DHCP server settings in the second router. The second router then pretty much becomes a switch you may then use all the ports on the second router with the exception of the WAN port it must remain unoccupied. However, if you need wireless connectivity in another location far away from your main router then your only solution would be to indeed purchase an actual access point/bridge device

you need a wireless ethernet bridge(like wet54g/wet610n) which will grab signals wirelessly from u're primary router wrt54g,& then a ethernet cable from wireless bridge will be connected to one of the lan port of u'rs netgear router(otherwise u will not be able to do file & printer sharing between 2 routers)Remember, the ip address of all 3 devices shold be of same class.

Can't detect wireless signal

Reset it to factory defaults by:
  • unplugging router
  • pressing and holding "Reset" button WHILE plugging the router back in to power
  • keep the reset button held for 30 seconds
  • access the router via a wired connection at http://192.168.0.1 - username should be left blank, password should be "admin" (without the quotes)

Cannot connect to router signal on computer keeps going off then on??

how far away is the computer? this usually happens when the signal is weak and the computer has trouble keeping connected, try moving the devices closer together, failing that do your windows updates as the newer updates improve wireless capabilities.

How to connect two remote device with a phone line in between.

no, not with a phone line... you could but making a bridge connection with an utp cable... but with all respect, if you were thinking about a telephone cable you are surely not qualified to do that bridge without assistance... so i recommend the following.

You surely know that UTP cable (lan cable) supports a distance up to 90 metres which is about 295 feet. If you need to go outdoor for that connection i would recommend outdoor cable for that connection its very cheap... and you dont need two routers if you just have four computers tops...

other stuff like amplify antennas might help your reach the far away computer via wireless...

other way is to find info on how to build a bridge with two routers on the net by searchin on google, its not that hard, but you still need utp cable... never phone line.

Linksys Wireless WRT54G vs. WET54G

For what it is worth, I fhave found streaming video does not function well using a wireless connection. The options of multipale routers will work as long as you configure them as to not have conflicting IP address assignment's via DHCP, and the routers do not have matching IP address's. Never fear all is possible with paticence. BPCS
