Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,

I need to restore factory settings to a clevo d40ev and cant find how to access the settings from startup can anyone help?

Hi there,
If you are wanting to reformat your computer, you need to go into your BIOS and set your boot priority to your DVD Drive, then your HDD. Put your recovery disc into your computer and reboot. When it says "Press any key to boot from disc...", press a key on your keyboard and follow the instructions.

Please note: Holding down the power button on the machine forces it to switch off. Any unsaved data will be lost.

2) Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and at the same time, tap the power button once to switch on your notebook.

3) When the machine Starts beeping; release the 0 key.

Each computer manufacturer has a special key you have to hit WHEN YOU POWER ON the computer Here are some of the keys,
HP and Compaq desktops/towers use F10,
E Machines and Gateway PC use F11,
Toshiba laptop F12,
Sony PC F10 .
IBM and Lenovo F11
Here is the trick- power the computer off, and then power it back on and start tapping the appropriate key eg F10 until a screen pops up saying "DO YOU WANT TO DO A SYSTEM RESTORE" Once this system restore window opens, stop tapping and just follow the instructions. Some of the older computers may ask you for the restore discs so have those ready. Most newer computers do not need restore discs. The whole system restore could take 2 or 3 hours. When done, reboot your computer and it should be all new and speedy again.

HOPE, THIS WILL HELP YOU !!!!

Some manufactures place a recovery partition in the hard drive. Startup the PC and tap the F5 key. Acer sometimes makes it F10, but industry standard is F5.
