SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I just turned my camera on and on the screen it says Write Protect. WHat does that mean?

It means the memory card inside it has been set to write protect so that images cannot be lost. If you take the card out there should be a tiny slide switch on the card itself (usually on the side). If you move the switch to the opposite direction you should be able to write to the card. You might want to check what is on the card before formatting to make sure there's nothing you need to keep :)

I have avg security...and its saying that im not protected...some of it wont work...and wont let me fix it

ok so your protection migh tbe infected, sometimes viruses attack your virus protection then utilize it to destroy your OS [operating system]. One issue is that the only to fix it completely is to re-install your OS.

BUT many people dont know how or are affraid of installing it, many people have information on a computer and they want to keep it. My method invovles storing that data in a safe place IE a flash drive, DVDS or CDs, or in some cases the second harddrive on your computer,

also you must own a OS disc with a serial number from your computer.

BUT i have a disc with a modified version of Windows xp professinal so i can reinstall my OS anytime i feel like it. So if i were you i would start backing up your data as your OS may be comprimised. then after saving your Important info and other data you may reinstall or use a recovery mode in your computers,

i know this isnt much help since you prolly dont want to reinstall your OS with all your data, but thats why u should back up your data and then possibly find the solution without the worry of losing it. many times the only way to solve these issues to have a clean install of your OS, but the means to do it are quite complicated if you havent done it before. just PM me if u want the Modified version of windows xp

A "Protected card" message keeps

To format your card is a method of outputting data in a specific format. You can do that from the digital camera, in the menu look out for the Format option and use it, or you can plug it into a computer (through a card reader) and once it shows up in My Computer, right click on the drive letter and select format.

Why do I have to go through the Start, Shut Down, process twice before my computer will shut down?

keeping it updated dont mean you dont have one when your computer dont shut down there is a parasite program keeping it on you need to check it, anti virus protection only protects against known viruses not one that has not been detected yet, once one is found then a program is made to fight and delete it, not before

I have a vivitar vivicam,i havent used it in a while. I just tried to take pictures and it says card protected. It lets me look at allthe features and my old photos but not take new ones. When i try CARD...

There is a little, and I mean little, lever on the top left, and if it's in a Locked positions...it is "protected"...move the lever to the Unlocked position and you shouldn't have any problem.

My Kenwood car stereo keep falshing the word "Protect" how to fix

in front of your #1 preset button there is a reset button push it with a pin. if you made a pass # put it in if not page 12 show you how to make one if you want. reseting it should make it work if it dont you have a short somewhere start from scratch buy taking it out. I suggest you dont make a password till the short is gone. Mine did the same thing but because i was pulling to much power on starting my car with my amps.

My stereo keeps saying ''protect''. how can i fix it? ive tried to unplug it for 4 hours and it still dont work

Check the speaker wire connections and make sure that none of them are crossed. Shorted wires will cause the reciever to turn on the protect mode to keep the amplifier from shorting out. Try disconnecting the speaker wires from the reciever. if you turn it on and it still says "protect" then the short is possibly in the reciever itself.

Marathon 2000 amp... PROT light

Ok this means the AMP is in protection mode!..most likely the cause is a short in your wireing from the speaker wires! check all wires going in and out of amp! Look for stray wires touching metal or other contacts! (If this does not fix it the short may be inside of amp!
(This has nothing to do with a fuse!)
