If the line only appears when the scanner is used & not when printing directly from the computer, you are correct in assuming the problem lies in the scanner assy. There should be mirrors attached to the scanner assy which will gather dust and cause copy/scan problems. Remove the glass & clean the mirrors with a DRY cotton cloth. Do not use any cleaning solution on the mirrors as they are sometimes treated & can be ruined if they come in contact with a cleaning solution. Use the dry cloth to wipe off the lens while you have it apart.Also clean both sides of the copy glass while you have it off. Reinstall glass & test.Cleaning the optics solves the problem most of the time. Good Luck!!

Maybe your transfer belt is damaged. If u have an spare belt replace it for a test. Answer me if it dont work. Maybe i can get an support manual for u. I work in a HP partner company.

Get a damp soft cloth and clean the scanner glass. If that doesn't resolve the issue there is a chance the scanning unit itself is damaged.

open printer access door,remove cartridges and printhead.go to www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport on how to remove printhead. click on the 3rd link that says removing or replacing printhead. put the printhead back after one minute,install both cartridges and then from menu choose clean printhead. if problem persists, upgrade the firmware of printer,ur issue will be resplved
