Coax from camera needs to feed vcr, at line in, line out from vcr goes to input of tv ie av1 av2 video in what have you. go that far and see if it makes sense. Then you can set vcr to record continuous and watch it at same time on tv or monitor.

I dont have the original remote and i need to record a security camera. none of the channels will record. i have to yellow, white, and red cords hooked up to the vcr in the front ( line in 2)

Generally on VCR the up & down channel selectors will take you to that socket. It will be called "AV" something (perhaps front). It depends on how many aux sockets the vcr has. Once selected you just need to press record.

Connections, security camara/vcr/tv

A VCR uses a "RF" signal, where a TV uses a broadcast signal. The standard TV will not record from a security VCR. However, if the TV has a yellow "video in" jack on the back, this will work to record the VCR. You might need to buy a BNC to RCA adaptor at radio shack. Let me know if this does not work.
