Tepid water at 38 degrees then loud noise when...

I installed a triton capella shower for some friends 2 weeks ago. it was fine for a week. now it gives out tepid water and when you turn up the hot water over ride it makes a high pitched noise. i am a plumber by trade and have never heard anything like it. I rang triton, they dont care. if we want an engineer out we must pay. this product has been fitted for 2 weeks and they didnt give a toss.From what i have read on the net this is a common problem. can you help ?
