Touchscreen problems with LG KU990

I'm having consistent problem with an unresponsive touchscreen for a LG KU990 Viewty. It freezes up more often than not. Shutting it down, taking out the battery appear to have no positive effect. Thoughts?

My LG KU990, touchscreen not responding to any commands. what do I do please?

sometimes the touchscreen will fail, normally it's the initilizer. these can be purchased cheaply from E-bay however will mean a partial dismantle of the phone! be careful as these are glued and screwed in.
