DWSR483EAWW GE Dryer doesn't turn off when set to "Optimum Dry"

Does the timer advance to the end or does it stop advancing in the middle of the cycle?
If the unit does advance to the end on timed but it won't advance on auto, that means your cycling thermostat isn't triggering. First, make sure your vent is cleaned and the best way to do that is just run a cycle without the vent hose connected to the back of the dryer to see if things change. If your dryer still won't dry properly, then the cycling thermostat will need to be replaced because it's not cycling properly.

Try it on the timed cycle. If it doesn't advance, then you have a bad timer and the timer will need to be replaced.

The cycling thermostat is mounted to the front of the blower wheel housing.

Here is the timer if it is found bad.

Hello, my kenmore dryer just stop working, light inside is still on but will not turn or come on Mod# 110.c66492500

Is the door completely shut? Did it stop working right in the middle of a cycle? Are you drying shoes in this load? I'd turn it off, and try it again. If this doesn't work, try it on another drying cycle. If this doesn't work, feel free to contact me again. I hope this works for you. Good Luck! Jim

Not drying properly. Also stpos in middle of cycle.

You may have a partial blockage in the vent due to lint buildup. Also, check the lint trap to be sure it is clear. To check the vent pipe you must pull the machine away from the wall so you can get behind it. then loosen the clamp holding the vent tube or hose to the back of the dryer. Using a flash light check the back end of the dryer and the entire tube plus check to see what is going on outdoors where the dryer vents to the out-of-doors
