Question about MSI nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256MB Dual DVI Fansink P Graphic Card

Geforce 8600 GT Broken down?!

I just recently noticed that my 2nd card is not working.

Cant enable sli and its not seen in device manager.
It doesnt give image, cant boot up with it (doesnt post)

Basicly I want to try reflashing the bios to the card but I cant get the programs to detect any cards in plain dos.

NVflash 5.xx says no nvidia cards found in dos.

NIBITOR 4.0 detects my first card but not the 2nd. Ive tested both pcie slots work.

What program should I use and which version?

I have two Club3d 8600 GT 256MB PCI-E
Motherboard is asus m2n sli

Have you tried the non functioning video card in another computer?

Did it work?

If not, replace it.

If yes, have you tried taking the card out and reseating it? This will be done anyway if you try it out on another computer and then put it back into yours.

Is this card one of those that require a separate power feed to it? Is this connected? Does the lead join the harness up near the Power Supply or way down near the end of the harness? (this makes a difference to the amount of power available and can cause the video card to malfunction if the voltage is too low).

Sorry I don't have an immediate answer, there are too many variables.

Good luck.

7950 gx2 cant enable sli mood (single card)

Disable plug & play from BIOS. Now re-install the game and the required driver. From Control Panel--systems--Device Manager, check the properties of the Graphics card drivers and check if there is any clash of resources, if so then allot it manually. Hope this works....sodeep

Hey druid

I guess the card is just dead, Ekse. There's no point tying to flash it if its not working or getting detected in the first place!
Had a similar problem with a DDR Ram I had, no burning smell, not heating up, looked perfectly normal, except that it was kaput.
The best suggestion I can give is to try it on another machine with an Express slot. If it doesnt work there either, adios amigo to the card. However, if it works there, there could be an issue with your motherboard, and not the card. (But I suppose you knew this already!) If it does work in the other PC, you could try flashing the BIOS there with the latest version of nvflash..

I did see the post in the lounge, but as this is not really my area of expertise, I didnt bother answering (even for $5 hehe).
