Question about Samsung HLN567W 56" Rear Projection HDTV
Two things to try:
1) If you have not done so, remove the lamp this model uses and examine it to see if it is intact or shattered inside. Lifespan on lamp is about 2,000 hours.
2) If before set failed you heard a fan like or high pitched sound or even a grinding sound, you may have a bad color wheel.
The set will detect if the wheel is not turning and shut the lamp off in a few seconds. Color wheel turns at over 12,000 RPM and is a common failure part.
The lamp is customer replaceable and the color wheel
also can be---there are video instructions for this on You Tube.
Let me know if this was helpful, I attach a photo of the color wheel and can tell you how to examine it with the lamp removed.
