Question about Bosch 24 in. SHY56A05 Stainless Steel Built-In Dishwasher
My DW will not stop filling and draining. I changed control board, flow switch, and water fill assembly. Nothing helped. A few things I've noticed: *The arm inside the dishwasher never turns- always stays in same position. *The dishes never get wet (I guess due to arm not turning). *When I open door during filling and draining I always have water in bottom of dishwasher. I have to hit the "drain" buttons to rid of it. *The cycle time minutes never run down- they always stay at the initial cycle time. *If I am doing the "test" mode correctly, DW is show a "4"- which I think idicates a fill problem. I am lost, pls help! Just bought house and though DW was good. Do not want to pay $125 to have someone look at it. My dishwasher doesnt seem to be draining the water or at least not all the water. At the end of cycle ill hit drain but I have to do this a few times. I took out the thing that you turn and pull out and a thing that looks like a cylinder with a hard screen. Cleaned them and put them back in and the problems still happening. HELP ME!
Pump runs with door open

Bosch dishwashers have a seperate pump for washing and another for draining. Try making it fill more than once. There is usually a timed fill and the float stops it before it overfills It also might prevent it from washing without enouth water Try defeating the door switch and play with the float during fill. There may be a sensor that won't let it go into wash. Be prepared to get a little wet if it should start up suddenly. A slightly safer way is to fill it with the sprayer from the sink. and see if it will go into wash.

make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the
bottom of the unit, after this test the lid switch assembly, you jump it to
test it. If the lid switch is also fine then the control board should be
replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

If the water inlet
valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float
switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found
inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher
lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for
the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby
shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may
interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to
test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and
touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either
zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down
on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If
the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for
