I have a 7 year old Amana NAV5800AW. It just started making a noise similar to a bearing going bad during the spin cycles. No vibration or malfunctioning of any of the other cycles. Haven't taken the service/front panel off yet to isolate the source of the sound. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is it spinning while making the noise?<br /> <br /> <a rel='nofollow' href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a><br />

Yes, the noise appears to also occur during the wash cycle, but not as loud.

If the noise happens during the spin and during the agitation too (even tho not as bad)
Unfortunately this could only be the main transmission and tub bearing, especially
if the noise has a deep grinding sound.
Unfortunately Amana and Maytag have this problem a lot.
Economically I would not fix it but it probably can be used until it leaks.

The washer vibrates in the wash and spin cycle .

Try checking for the shipping screws, did you remove them? They are there to prevent the drum moving during transport but if left in the whole machine will try to jump about.

I have an Amama NAV5800AW washer machine and about a month ago every time the washer is on spin cycle it makes a VERY loud sound, and lately has been leaking water during the spin. Any thoughts.

Hello,

The noise you are hearing is the main tub bearing. Water has been leaking past the seal and into the bearing causing it to rust. There is no lubrication on the bearing anymore and you are hearing the metal on metal grinding. You are looking at a costly repair of about $350. I hope this helps you out.

Hi When spin drying or any fast spin cycle it has a very loud rough bearing type of noise

sounds like main tub bearings are gone ..turn the drum by hand if it rumbles its bearing dont use it ... this is not a good job to do.

Water on the floor & very noisy spin. 6yrs old. fix or replace? what would repairman charge?

The main bearing seal let go and that is the cause for the noise and water on your floor. The repair is costly, around $350 for repair.

Clothes washer vibration during spin cycles

the vibration and noise is most likely from the drum bearings wearing out to test the bearings try this out,,,
open the door, hold the top of the drum and lift it up, if it has any free lift in it the bearings are going, now spin the drum by hand and you should here the rumble off the bearings

Makes horrible noise during spin cycle only

The bearings have most likely gone bad. This is a very common problem with the front load washer when powder soap is used.

Loud noise during spin cycle and agitator won't rotate

the machine is nknown to have bad main seals, in turn leading to the corrosion of the spin bearing, in which case makes it sound as if a helicopter is landing in your laundry room
