It all depends on the auto,on a 1989 cevy truck a god mech could do the job in 30 min but the book might call for 1.5 hrs to complete the job ,some research on the auto to be fixed will give you the answers good luck.

Average price to replace heater core

This is a major job. Accessing the HVAC module where the heater core resides requires discharging the A/C system, removing the dashboard, steering column, and heater box. The labor is just over 6 hours. Add in the cost of coolant and refrigerant and you've got a big bill coming....and unfortunately, one that most DIYers can't take on by themselves. Labor rates run $80.00 - $100.00 hour depending on shop. Some services can be packaged to save money, such as the recover-recharge A/C system, drain/refill cooling system. Be careful, however, because shops use a industy-standard book rate for these jobs to determine hours to charge. The hours listed for this job should include the coolant drain/refill and A/C discharge/recharge labor if they are required. If the shop offers you package prices, ensure that they are adjusting labor time for the core R/R and not double-billing you on the labor for those package items.

WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT QUOTE

I don't have a labor manual in front of me right now but i can tell you that it's not cheap. The water pump is driven by the timing chain which requires a bit of labor to get to. If i recall correctly it's at least a 3 hour job so depending on your local labor rate it should be around $350-550.

I paid $650.00 to replace my alternator in my 2004

I just got my alternator replaced yesterday 6/29/10. I paid $216 for the alternator from autozone and $191 for 2.5 hours of labor. If I would have replaced the alternator with the factory replacement the alternator would have costed about a $100 more. I is a complicated job. The mechanic that replaced my alternator said the he had to remove the right wheel and the right wheel axle in order to have enough room the remove the alternator. The most eye opening thing my mechanic told me was he think it is a design flaw that the alternator is so close to the catalytic converter which causes the alternator to get extremely hot. Under those conditions in time that will shorten the life of the alternator.

1.6 hour's X there labor rate = labor cost.

To also replace air filter and fuel filter
air filter about $20.69

Labor to remove and replace .7thent of an hour
X there labor rate = labor cost.

Estimate of labor charges for replacing alternator on a 2002 Silhouette.

Typically the Silhouette and the Transport are the same vehicle. I spent about 45 minutes to replace the Alternator on my former Transport. It depends upon the prevailing Labor Rate what you will have to pay. I would guess somewhere around $75-$200 fro Labor alone.
