    hi guitarrita,

I need more information before I will be able to help you with your problem:

    1. What operating system was running on the computer when it crashed. If it wasn't Windows 98, do you not have the installation disc for that operating system?

    2. With regard to the last sentence of your post, "I've reformated hard drive to win98, hopping to conect to internet and download winxp with no luck. With which step did you not have any luck:

    • Installing Windows 98 on the computer? If not:

    • Connecting to the Internet? If not:

    • Downloading a copy of Windows XP?

You can't downoad XP.

On the back of your PC Case should be a sticker with the phone number for Systemax. Call them, answer their questions about the serial number etc. and be prepared to pay for a recovery CD/DVD for your unit. Ask for detailed instructions with the Recovery disc or call them back once you have it in hand. They are only an 800 number away.

If you can't find the phone number for your case unit build you can try this number: 800 262 6622

In my computer i have windows 98 sec OS, IN THAT I CAN NOT USE TRANSCEND 4GB PEN DRIVE . HOW CAN I USE THIS?

Windows 98 was not noted for being really USB friendly.
Bottom line--you can't use this flash drive with Win98
If you had a Sandisk drive, they provide Win 98 drivers. I don't think Transcend does.
Keep in mind--Win98 is an end-of-life product and is no longer supported by Microsoft.

No audio

I would say that you should install WinXP SP3 (if you are using WinXP) or Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver from Microsoft and then restart computer, it should work. here is the link for UAA Driver ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe
And for WinXP SP3 http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/software/svpk/2008/04/windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4.exe
try one of the link, it should work.

Take care.

How to solve pci.sys error during reformating of the hard drive

You have two ways to solve the problem of "Pci.sys Is Missing or Corrupt"
Error Message When You Start Windows.

1.Booting with WinXP CD to access the Recovery Console’s Repair option,
and then copy from WinXP CD the missing or damaged Pci.sys file to
Systemdrive:\Windows\System32\drivers folder , Exit and Reboot.

start the recovery console and type:
set AllowAllPaths = true
expand d:\i386\pci.sy_ c:\windows\system\drivers32 /y
If you don't type
set AllowAllPaths = true you can't access the windows folder.

2. Booting with WinXP CD and then perform a Windows XP Repair Reinstall
of the currently installed system.

Two hard drives Vista and XP not booting

If you would like to start up in the xp ,At computer start up hit F1 or F2 there are so many ways some times its hold the del key ,once your into the BIOS you can change the boot order of your drives to make the drive xp is on load first .You will have to do this everytime or buy a program that will do it for you .I would just leave the power unpluged on one of the drives until you need it that way it will be safe from a virus or if you have a hard drive crash you always have one good drive .Hops this helps.
