Most likely a problem with the laptop/windows. The error box you are getting asking about sending a report to Microsoft will only come up when a program ends abnormally. If it happens with just 1 program, it's probably that program having a problem. If every program gets that message, it's probably either a windows problem, or hardware issue.

Tablet shut down in the middle resetting. How do I finish the reset process?

Cry. Seriously, remove the drive and copy off of it any and all files that you want and need. Then format the unit and reinstall the operating system and programs from the backup disks that you have. No backup?

Now you are really ******* - see if you can get set from notebook manufacturer. If not check with your computer literate friends to see if any of them have OS installation disks.

USB Port can preform faster error message

This is because you are plugging in a USB 2 device to a standard USB port, or a USB 3 device into a USB 2 port. The computer is just telling you that if you upgrade the hardware, the device will work faster. Its more of an information message than an error. Your device should still function fine.

I have a main Password set on the labtop and i cant reset it without the password. How can i reset it?

Dear Friend,
If you are referring to the Bios Password, removed the battery and push down the power button for about 30 to 60 seconds to reset it (this apply to major brands). If it does not work, you might have to open apart and removed the bios battery for about 5 seconds.
Now, if you are referring to the Windows Password, there are many software that can help you to achieved this (Google it). Normally, in Windows XP you press down the following key combination: Crtl + Alt and press the Del button twice (during log on screen) this will bring the Log on to Windows screen where Username can be try as Administrator with no password, allowing you to get inside and change your password.
Good Luck!!!

I keep getting a pop up window every 10 sec or so saying ''eee pc tray utility has encountered a problem and needs to close'' ...i have clicked Dont send, and also send error report, and still it keeps...

Click Start, Run... or press Windows Button and Alphabet R button together. On the run dialog that comes up type the word msconfig This brings up a dialog where you can use the services tab and startup tabs to remove the tick marks from the items like eee pc tray utility to prevent it from starting up again in the next restart. You can also press the end task in the services tab if you want to stop it right now. Removing unwanted items from services and startup tab will give you a faster bootup. Pavilion dv7 keeps shutting down

  • This may not fix your issue but its worth a try ...let me know how it goes
  • If the computer appears to shutdown and then attempt to restart without displaying an error message, do the following to disable the automatic restart on error setting.
    1. Click Start , right-click Computer , and then select Properties .
    2. Click Advanced system settings , grant permission to continue if prompted, and then click the Advanced tab.
    3. Click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section of the Advanced tab.
    4. Deselect the Automatically restart checkbox under System failure .
    5. Click OK to close the Startup and Recovery window, click OK again to close the System Properties window, and then close the Control Panel window.
    6. Restart the PC.
Disabling the automatic restart setting allows time to view the error message that displays on the screen. Contact the manufacturer of the program or device that is causing the error for specific information about the error message.
