I have a Panasonic Lumix T27 and my photos at night parties and concerts always turn out dark and terrible. Can you please tell me the correct settings to rectify this problem and for fast taking shutter...

At night and at concerts, the light level is low. If your camera is on auto, it will try to fire the flash. It's only effective for about 8 feet. Anything farther away than that will be dark. In these instances, it's best to turn off the flash, set the ISO to a higher setting, and set the white balance for tungsten lighting. You'll need to hold the camera steady but you should get better shots.

ENGINE MISFIRE TO THE POINT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. AN IT WILL START TO FLASH. AN WONT GO OUT UNTIL YOU TURN OFF THE CAR .60-65 IT WILL STOP, AS SOON AS THE CAR START TO SLOW DOWN.IT START ALL...

wait untill its dark outside, open your hood and start the engine. look around for white / blue or yellow flashes of light coming from your plug wires. most of the time the spark plug wires are worn out / degraded from heat , and you can see the small lightning flashes in the dark. if you see no light flashes ( shorts to ground) then you can have a cracked / faulty distributor , or bad spark plugs.

Any suggestions as to what setting I should use at an indoor concert? I tried several different ones and none of them seemed to work. They either came out blurry or dark. Thanks! Kim

Indoor concerts are difficult with a point and shoot camera. You'll need to set a high ISO. You need to be rock steady (a tripod or monopod is recommended). The white balance should be "tungsten". Turn off the flash.

Nikon D50 Flashes Err and clicks

hi..
This screen shows areas of the photo that are overexposed slightly.
It flashes them to help you.
You get to this screen by pressing the up or down arrows when displaying the pictures you have taken.

To change it just press the up arrow when the camera is showing the screen until you get a display without flashing.

Once you have done this the display will be steady.
If you get any other screen in future you may have accidently pressed the arrow again.
Just cycle thru the displays to get back to steady.

thank u
rate me!!

Missing shot.

Any auto camera like this is going to have trouble in dark light...
Photography is all about light, and in dark situations, compromise as well.

You best chance is to set the ISO up to the highest setting available, use flash, and a faster shutter speed, however, faster shutter speeds means less light can enter the lens, and hence give a darker image. Higher ISO makes the camera more sensitive to light, but produces grainier images as a result. Flash creates artificial light...

The only real way to get good images at a concert in the dark is with a high end camera, a lens costing many thousands of dollars, a tripod or monopod to steady yourself, and a longer open shutter time.

In the meantime however, experiment with higher ISO setting, flash and try to keep your hand steady at all times because the shutter speed needs to be slightly slower for the lens to capture more light.

White Screen

  1. Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees. When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted. The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room. Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on. Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal. Camera was not dropped. Batteries have been changed.

Night pictures

a) Place the camera on a tripod (or a steady surface - e.g. a chair)
b) Select P mode
c) Focus and take the shot.

Most probably, with the above settings, the camera will select a longer exposure without flash, lighting the scene properly (i.e. making it appear as night, as it should be). However, know that this will also create motion blur of moving subjects (the kids, in this case). If you want to avoid this, you must use flash in slow sync mode. Press repeatedly the flash button, until you see the "slow" indication on the screen (where the flash info appears, down left). Again, the camera should be on a steady surface.

If your pictures are again too bright, it means that the Exposure compensation is for some reason set to +. Use the appropriate button (check the manual if you don't remember which one it is) to fix it

Pictures are dark, even when flash is being used

Press the FN button under the toggle on right side of LCD screen. You will see white balance on left. Toggle down to the "flash" symbol".  Should work a treat now. If not using flash go to FN again and raise ISO.(Don"t forget to go to Auto white balance again!!)
