Can't find vidoes after syncing them to my walkman nwz-S616F. When I go into videos it states that I have none available. However when search the walkman it shows the video files. How can I fix it so that it shows on my sony?.

Same problem: the pc sees the player, I am able to create and delete folders, but when I try to copy files to/from the player I get "error: the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected". By the way, if you connect the player to a linux pc you get similar errors - you can mount the device, but if you try to copy something the transfer stops after a few MBs.

I tried to connect the same player to another pc and it worked flawlessly. I think the problem only happens when the player is connected to some specific USB controllers.

I had the same problem an it got solved by the provided solution in this thread.

But: The Sony Walkman device KEEPS saying "Connecting" and "Do not disconnect" on the screen even when it IS connected. How that?

And by the way; Usually I didn't have to update the driver manually in the device manager. How come this problem just appeared? I use the same version of QuickTime and Windows Media Format Runtime 11 as I used to...

I also had this problem and it became solved with the provided solution in this thread, but:

My Sony Walkman device KEEPS saying "Connecting" and "Do not disconnect" on the screen, even though it IS connected and I can transfer files now.

And btw., how did this problem appear? What could be the cause of it? Because usually I never had to update the drivers manually in the device manager.

Dear holders, I have it and solved all problems which are in discussion. Just read all INFERNAL help, it works! By XP, go to Start-Control Panels-Administrative tools-Computer Management-Device manager (small icon of computer on your left hand side) tab should have “Walkman” or MTP device. Right click on it and go to properties, now before doing anything it should say “Location — —— Location 0 (Walkman)” if not try unplugging the walkman and see if the MTP device you’re looking at is removed from the list, just to make sure it’s the right device we’re looking for.If you’ve confirmed it’s the Walkman, click on the “Driver tab” and click on “Update Driver…”. Then click on the “Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced)” option and click “Next”. Now select the “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.” and click next. It should now bring up 2 driver choices, one being “MTP Device” and the other “USB Mass Storage Device”. Select the USB option and select next, it will then install your walkman as a USB storage device and after that’s done. It should be a matter of unplugging and plugging the Walkman back in and it should show up on your storage options in “My Computer””. Holla for original uploader Inferno!!!

Unable to play video songs. Which format does it support. Please help to find out the solution.

NWZ-S616F model is compatible with MPEG 4 or M4V video profiles at 30 frames per second,

I would suggest don't watch too long videos on this player because the screen is very small and watching videos on it after around 10 mins takes toll on your eyes.

Sadly sony has not provided any video converter with this player, so you may have to download free converter from internet called "Super" which would help you convert videos for this player

Which you can then put it directly on the player by connecting the player with the cable provided for PC connectivity and directly drag and drop the converted video files once your PC detects the player.

Pls note: if you have windows XP you would have to first install the Sony Software provided provided in the CD with this player, with Windows Vista and above you would not have to install any additional software
