As long as it wasn't sitting in water for a long time, I usually shake mine out then remove the battery and SIM card to towel dry them and the phone itself. then put phone in freezer and remove after about thirty minutes or so. Then wipe off any frost or condensation and reassemble. Lots of people don't like this and say that it doesn't work...but it's worked 3 out of 4 time for me in the past.

I have a virgin mobile Awe zte. Water got spilled on it and now my power button won't work and it only charge up to 35 percent. What can I do to fix this situation? I've tried rice

Hi Keandra,

Unfortunately rice rarely works. Its not the water that damages phones its the minerals in the water that corrodes components and shorts connections once the waters gone.

as a last chance you can try a specialist repair kit that will remove them,

Using Bluetooth Technology to Connect Laptop and Cell Phone

Many of you get your mobile phone wet by one way or another. You worry as you mistakenly drop your mobile phone in water. It can also get wet if you are out in a heavy rain. However, there is no need to panic. It is possible to save your wet mobile phone by quickly repairing it. In order to save your mobile phone from water damage, you can consider these easy and simple solutions:
Act rapidly :
The first thing you have to do in order to save your wet mobile phone is to act rapidly. Quickly remove all the detachable parts as well as covers possible such as the back cover, battery, the SIM card, memory card etc. Next, take a piece of cloth or a tissue paper to wipe the excess water you are able to notice within the mobile phone. Make sure that you dry it completely. If you don' t do this, the water inside the mobile phone will begin to evaporate and gather in places which will be difficult to reach.
This will save your wet mobile phone and it will start working if it was under water for just a little while.
Using a hairdryer :
Take a hairdryer and begin drying the mobile phone while giving more consideration to the place where the battery is located. The battery housing usually consists of tiny holes to let in air (so giving more space for water) inside the mobile phone.
Make sure that you are not holding the hairdryer very near to the mobile phone. Keeping it too close to the mobile phone may harm the electrical mechanism of the mobile phone. Keep on drying the mobile phone from a safe distance for about twenty to thirty minutes.
If solution number 1 and solution number 2 don't work, try solution number 3.
Drying for a long time:
Take off the covers as well as battery from the mobile phone. Put the phone in a dry as well as warm place to let the water inside the phone evaporate gradually from the little holes in the mobile phone.

How To Quickly Repair Your Mobile Phone Dropped In Water

Now, there is no need to panic if your mobile phone gets dropped in water or you get stuck up in a bad rain and your clothes as well as your mobile phone gets wet. All you need to do is follow the following three tips that will fix your phone with water damage:-

(A) Act Quickly : straight away get into action and remove every cover and detachable part you possibly can like memory card, the SIM card, battery and back cover, etc. Now use a toilet paper or a thin cloth to blot away any excess water you can see inside of the phone and be sure to get as much as you can. Otherwise, all this water will start evaporating and collecting in hard to reach various places in your phone.
Your phone may work now if it was only submerged for a short period of time.

B) Quick Drying : Grab a hairdryer and start drying your phone paying extra attention to the battery housing as this normally has small holes which allow air (and ironically enough water) into the phone.

warning: Don’t hold the hair dryer too close to the phone. Keep it at a distance whereby if you put your hand in front of the hair dryer it would not burn you. Bringing it closer could damage your phone’s electrical components. If i am sounding serious, try putting a hair dryer up against a sheet of paper for a few seconds. It turns it brown – would you want that happening to the inside of your phone?

If 20-30 minutes of this doesn’t work – go to plan C.

C) Long Term Drying : By putting it in a warm dry place you allow the water to slowly evaporate and escape through the holes in the phone (remove the covers and battery when doing this).

I droped my cell phone in water. It dryed and it turns on and says t-moble,andriod and then it is still on but nothing just blank.

If you this just happened try putting your cell phone in uncooked rice. This will absorb the water quickly and may manage to save your phone before the water does permanent damage. Leave the phone in the rice overnight and see how it is doing the next day. If your phone was submerged in water a while ago the damage to your phone may be permanent.

My mobile is damage by water how can i solve this problem

Get the Phone Out of the water. Do NOT power it on.
This may sound too obvious a step but a few extra seconds that your phone spends in water can reduce whatever chances you had of saving your phone.
If however your phone has spent more than a few minutes in water try removing the battery when the whole gadget is under water itself .
Powering up the phone when it is wet causes the maximum damage to your phone.

2 Remove the battery and SIM card
Water + battery is a bad combination for your phone. Remove the battery as soon as possible. SIM card too must be removed immediately as water on SIM cards may erase all your contacts stored in the SIM.
3 Dry the phone as much as possible
Try and pat dry the phone, the battery and the SIM card. Using a paper towel is advisable for removing water quickly.
4 Metciulously Disassemble the phone completely
This is one of the most important steps on your phone's path to recovery. If possible take your phone to a local mobile phone servicing shop and ask him/her top disassemble the phone completely for you. Make sure the circuits are not powered up by the shopkeeper.
If you are worried that disassembling the phone will make your warranty/guarantee void you need to know that phones come with Water Damage indicators which change colors with the slightest hint of water. No phone warranty covers water damage.
5 Dry all the phone components with a dessicant
After disassembling the phone immerse each component in a bowl of uncooked rice / silica gel packs. These dessicants absorb water effectively and draw out water from all nooks and corners of your phone. Heating / Vaporising the water is a bad idea cause that would leave salts on your phone's circuitry and cause corrosion and eventual death of your phone. Hence drying with uncooked rice/silica gels where water is removed by absorption is the best option. Leave it there for a couple of days.
6 Show patience and let every component lie under a table lamp for a couple of days
Now your phone is almost on its way to complete recovery provided you show Adequate patience. You may keep the bowl of rice under a table lamp for this duration . Changing the rice /silica gels though not a mandatory step, can be pretty effective and useful.
7 Assemble , Pray and Switch on!

Please specify what the phone is doing (or not doing) right. But to let you know, Most of the time, the problems with blackberries can be repair as it is a very strong phone. Unless it has gone completly under water and has died, there is a good chance you can fix the phone, specially if only the trackball has issues. Please contact me if you are in US and like to send it in for me to look at. cellularcpr@aol.com
