If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

I'm getting an error msg and can't print. It says please fix cartridge jam and hit enter. I can't find any jam. What do I do?

If there isn't a cartridge jam then it's probably a carriage jam:
However, I'm not too familiar with clearing a carriage jam. I just know that if your cartridges are not blocked then the carriage is likely at fault. You will need to Google this on how to fix a carriage jam.

I just changed the (2) ink cartridges in my HP PCS 1610 All-in-One HP printer and now get an error message "CARRIAGE JAM - OPEN DOOR. CLEAR CARRIAGE JAM, AND THEN PRESS OK." I don't see any jam...

Have you tried moving the carriage to see if it really is jammed? Maybe you haven't put the levers down properly on your new cartridges....remove them, see if the carriage slides, then refit them and check the carriage again. You wont visually 'see' a carriage jam,; you have to try moving it. By the way, if it doesn't move, DONT force it to try and overcome the jam try and reason out why it doesn't move.
Hope this helps!

The pick up rollers are dirty. You need to clean them with a damp cloth. These rollers should be just above the leading edge of the paper when loaded.

I have a paper jammed in the printer and I cannot get it out.

Normally the paaper gets jammed into the rollers and the drives and could be easily released if you can use the copy keys to forward the drive. There could be also paper lodged in the feed rollers or the inner roller could have jammed into. If so you will have to release the holding screws of the roller and remove off the paper. If the dispaly is showing paper jammed there is also the possibility that the paper detect in optocoupler sensor is faulty. If so check and replace this which is found at the paper feed on. Once the display shows a release the printer should work . Hope you try out. Good day

Carriage jam

Usually when the printer displays a carriage jam error the carriage assembly is jamming along the carrige path.
There may be something in the carriage path or the carriage shaft may need lubricating.
Check the area where the carriage is has stoped. There might be an obstruction visible.
