Question about Pacific Laser Systems PLS5 Automatic Laser Plumb Level And Square

Open Question

I have a robotoolz laser level RT-7210-1. ( The remote controlled one that rotates and sends out a level beam.) In attempting to calibrate it I backed the set screw out all the way and it fell down into the machine.I did this by accident because however far I turned it it didn't have enough effect (lowering the beam). Maybe it was too far out to be within the calibrating adjustment range or ???. Any ideas on this or on retrieving the setscrew? I'm about to embark on (foolishly?) taking the thing apart. Thanks, Dan

My Robotoolz : RT-7210-1 was stored improperly and now the lazer beam is dim and hard to see in bright sunlight... Could really use info on repair or info on a place that can repair it for me.

Improper storage (I've done it too), usually means that the batteries have become too hot - and
therefore weak. The first thing I'd try is changing the batteries.
The 635nm laser operates on (4) AA batteries, and the rotary uses (1) 9V battery.
The online reviews for this a horrifically bad - see:

Uno.comi have a robolaser level rbo1001 that dosnt work. put in all new batterys. worked great for 10-11 yrs now nothing. light or rotation.b

I have a Porta-Cable,I found that the clicker's battery always had a bad connection so I put packing around it and it has worked so far. I've also found that the first time moisture hit the thing the spread lazor lost it's power. If yours worked for 10 years, then it already paid for itself.

I have a RoboToolz RB01001 rotary laser. The green light comes on for approximately 2 sec. then goes out and the unit does not function at all. It has very little usage and has been cared for, never tossed...

That's usually a battery problem either in the laser unit or the remote control. The battery in the remote tends to disconnect if bumped. A small piece of foam pad at the bottom of the battery can fix that.

Cant calibrate laser

You must place the unit 30' from a wall, level the unit with the level indicating vials, mark spot on wall or object, rotate laser 180 degrees and level with vials again, if it comes to the same spot your unit is calibarated. if not then you must do this process at least 2 times(1 for each directional level) and use the adjusting screw to move vial. it takes a while to get it right.
