Disconnect the power and water hoses if you have to pull out the unit the power is a must to turn off though .
open the lid and most of the time you can yank up be careful not to hurt your back from the position you have to be in.
and try not to yank up to the point you bend the top a small screwdriver on the side seam about a inch down gently pry but you can scratch the unit so be careful unless your not to worried do this in the front part when you hear a pop it will be kinda hard their are steel clips that hold the top in place they can be a pain when it releases you tilt up like the lid careful not to damage wires.
then you can locate the trash trap it will be plastic remove the crud and lower the top back down to re clip you press and bump hard on top edge and the top will re seat. re-hook water and test for leaks plug in and test run looking for a leak if none use the washer be careful if their is a leak and unplug power if their is do not stand in water and grab the power line it can be lethal hope this helps

I have a washer/dryer. I would like to use the dryer but after a minute or two it says E20. I don't have a manual & don't know what to do please help regards Genevieve

E20 error on drying with mine. Cleaned normal fluff filter but no fix. Found that the condenser bottle fills with fluff also and needs to be cleaned out. Underneath the washer there is a plastic catch inside the rubber boot that catches obstacles from going down the drain. Clean that up if all is cleaned the code should disappear if not you can try unplugging it for about 30 minutes or so. Hope this helped Tim

There is water that is coming out from the inside of my machine

There are many places where it can be leaking from. The first thing i would check is take off the drain pan and find the drain catch (either a box or a cup that has a large hose that drains the water away). That hose could be clogged causing the drain catch to overflow

the pump is clogged, unplug the machine, remove the bottom panel,if there's water still in the tub vac it out with a shop vac, then look at the pump, the senter unscrews but first put down some towels to catch some water and have the shop vac on,turn the middle piece of the pump counter clockwise slowly, when the water starts coming out stop turning and vac it up as the water leaks out, when it slows down open it a little more while vacing the water up until it's empty. turn it all the way and remove the filter or coin catch in the middle of the pump and clean off the filter,it will be gross and the water will be stinky, stick your finger in the pump and make sure nothing is in there near the impellar and check the hose that connects to the pump and make sure it's clear, put the filter back in and turn it clockwise until it's tight, plug in the washer, fill it and then drain it to make sure the pump is working properly, check for leaks and listen for any sounds,if it sounds like something is still in the pump do the same thing and remove the filter again and look to see if you can see what's still in there,or if the water doesn't drain you could have damaged the pump and then you'll have to change the pump but they are tough,if everything looks ok button it up and your all set, also check the boot inside where the door closes and touches the rubber part, pull the boot open and check it to see if anything is stuck in it,also you should wipe it out after every use so it doesn't get stinky.also the number one killer of front load washers is using to much detergent, you should be using the H.E. detergent and should only be using like a quarter of a cupful, the instructions on the bottle is for a regular top load washer, alot of my customers use a half cup or a full cup,the extra detergent is like acid to the rear spider gear,it eats the soft metal and the gear breaks, when you put it in spin it runs very loud, then it's new washer time, the gear and the cost of labor is almost as much as a new washer.good luck and let me know how you make out

Keep getting f21 error message and washer dosn't drain

take off the bottom panel, you'll see the pump and in the middle of the pump there's a catch cup, uncrew the center of the pump and your gonna find all kinds of good stuff.if you have a shop vac for water your gonna need it,turn the center piece slowly until water starts to trickle out and use the shop vac to clean out the water or you'll have a mess, put down a couple of bath towels too to catch the water, after you cleaned out the water remove the middle part all together and stick your finger inside and feel around the impeller to make sure nothing is stuck on it,also check the rubber drain hose on the other end of the pump, stuff can get stuck in there too.put it back together,if it still doesn't drain change out the pump.also check the drain line for kinks in it.i see this all the time, there's usually a couple of dollars worth of change in there and other good stuff, let me know how you make out

I have water leaking from inside the refridgerator (top/back side). Do you know what might cause this and how to solve it? Thanks ...

your drain is clogged.you may have a catch for your drain where you see leak coming from.that may pull off and you can see if their is trash build up in it.you are going to need to take the panel off the back of freezer.inside back of freezer you will see screws.they will need to come out,if you have ice maker that will need to be removed also.once back panel is off you will see your coils, beneath the coils it will most likely have a sheet of ice.tturn machine off and take a hair dryer and defrost the ice.once ice is gone take a cup of hot water and run thru drain to see if unclogged.repeat if drain is not clear.the ice in drain tube will eventually unclog.I use a steamer.much quicker.

Brown dirt-like looking "gunk" coming out of the washer

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Next: You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Have you cleaned out your pump lately. Put the pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.
Pl give me a good rating for the free help, thanks.

I can't figure out how to get all the lint/junk out of my bagless hoover mach 4.

After you remove the cup, remove the foam or hepa filter. Reach up inside, where the cup & filter go and there will probably be a piece with what looks like fins on it. Unlatch this. It is a prefilter, to catch the big stuff that gets past the cup.
