Try these steps:
(1.) Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open.
(2.) Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode."
(3.) With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery.
(4.) Put the battery back in--out should pop your tape...

Hope this has helped you..

Voila! Your suggestion to power up my Sony DCR-TRV510 and remove and reinstall the battery to clear a C 32:11 WORKED!! You seem to have saved me hundreds of dollars.
My camcorder wouldn't latch from a cassette compartment opened up position, with or without a cassette in it. I had removed the battery and reinstalled it a couple of times, but not with the power on in Camera mode.

I had the same problem on a Sony DCR TRV22. I was able to resolve a stuck tape by switching the camera into memory stick mode (after disconnecting the battery and using the plug-in power source). In memory stick mode I opened the tape compartment and the tape ejected very slowly as if it were sticking or had eaten the tape, however once it successfully ejected found that there was no mechanical or tape issues. I did however notice that that particular tape was set to protection on/rec off - the little lever that is on the tape itself that keeps you from accidentally recording over it.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV330 Digital-8 won't calibrate tapes to be able to view

hi there. i just actually had this problem right now. and heres how i fixed it :) it had the error so i took out the tape left it ejected for about 5 seconds. then put the tape back. it read for a little then errored again so it was close. next what i did is plugged the camera in (last time this error happened i plugged in the power and it fixed it) still no fix so i took off the battery waited 5 seconds then put it back on. after that i ejected the tape again and re put it in and it worked! you could try anyone of those things. and usually they work for me. maybe it has something to do with the cameras being old.

Reinsert cassette

Turn the unit off and hit the back of the camera twice near the battery compartment with the palm of your hand. Sounds crazy but it worked with my camcorder Sony DCR-TRV480. Problem started when I used 8MM Head Cleaner. I think the roller got stuck inside camcorder. The trouble code came up C:31:22. Hope this helps.

"Re-attach the power source" but tape is stuck, door open

I had the same problem. First, depress the reset button, located on the camera body (where the LCD screen closes over it). It is hard to see at first. It is important that the camera be set to the OFF position. When the camera is whirring after the reset, then hit the EJECT button so the tape comes out. Take the tape out and insert it back. That's it. My camcorder worked fine and let me record or plaback once I followed those steps.
