No hot water pressure

These types faucets have a what is called an anti scald valve build into them, it is required by law, it is either defective or out of adjustment, contact a local hardware store for more detailed info.

Cold and warm water, no hot water

If this is a new installation or someone has removed the lever and put it back, take the lever off.
There should be an plastic insert with grooves and a stop on it, which allows the lever to only go so far. This is removable. The insert acts as a stop to prevent scalding. you should be able to pull it out and reinstall in with the stop more toward the left allowing the lever to go more toward the hot side. Hopefully this helps out.

I have very little hot water pressure on my american standard shower faucet. Can I adjust it?

the pressure in pipes has to do with the volume. The bigger the pipe the better the pressure. Take the time to trace out your hot water line and see if you can find any old galvonized pipe, thats usually the problem in most cases. galvonized pipe over time will rust and corrode causing restriction in the water line. replacing it with 1/2" copper should solve the problem.

I have a one handle shower/tub faucet, and when you run straight hot water (to preheat for example) the water shuts itself off. Lever is still in the lifted/on position however. Cold is fine, even warm...

If this is a newer valve what is probably happening is the valve is a scald guard valve and is shuting itself off when it senses no pressure on the cold side. I don't have a lot of experience with am. std. valves but I'm sure you can get instruction on line to set heat setting on valve higher. Thank you.

The plumber soldered in the faucet without removing the cartridge, the o-rings are melted. Have the builder replace the o-rings.
