Monitor is on power save; how can we get it off

Will the monitor not come on at all? Its possbible you have some capacitors burned out on power board. This will cause it to go in to Power saving mode and stay.

Our Dell Pc is stuck in power save mode. We can,t get it off. What do we do?

The issue is with the monitor itself. If a monitor does not get a pc signal then it will go into power save mode. Check the cables and see if the monitor is plugged into the computer tower. There might be two ports to plug into, try them all.

Dell optiplex gx 270 is not giving display

If you are not getting display for your Dell Optiplex GX 270, the issue may be one of three possible causes:

* The VGA cable connection between the Dell PC and the monitor, may not be seated in the VGA port correctly. To resolve this, just make sure the VGA cable is seated completely in the VGA port of the Dell computer and that also the Power cord from the monitor to the power source (i.e wall socket, power strip, surge protector, etc.) is seated securely.

* There may be an issue with the Video card in the Dell PC

* Or there may be an issue with the motherboard for this model of Dell.

To check to determine if the latter is what you are experiencing with this issue, please feel free to review this Dell Support link: Dell Optiplex GX 270 Display issue.

When the computer turns on i get nothing on the monitor and the monitor says it is in power save mode. plus the light on the optiplex tower stays orange.

when yo uget power save on you monitor it is telling you it has lost connection with the computer signal. make sure it is pluged in really good to the comp and to the back of the monitor. if it is in good then your video port or card is having a problem

Nothing works on my dell optiplex gx 270

First, are you sure the power supply is coming on? Check by placing your hand at the back of the computer where the power cord plugs in, turn on the computer and see if you feel air blowing. It sounds like your power supply died.

If you're not using a quality surge protector, you may have fried the PS. Wal-Mart sells a cheapie one that goes bad quickly. If you spend less that $39.95 on a surge protector, you're basically wasting your money.

If the power supply doesn't come on, replace it, but you'll have to purchase it from Dell because they use proprietary PS - so generic won't work.

I have a Dell Desktop Optiplex GX270 the problem which i am facing is that its totally all right when i start it but after few minutes it seems that its hibernating the display is gone just blinking of LED...

Here's the bad news.
Dell had the 270 and several previous models made for them and the manufacturer installed cheap capacitors on the motherboards to save money. If your machine is still under warranty Dell will replace the motherboard. If not, they will sell you a refurbished one if they still have any. If you are handy with a good soldering iron, look at the motherboard and find the aluminum capacitors that show bulging or leaking from the top or bottom. Replace them with caps of identical value and higher quality.
Otherwise, follow the good news.
The good news is, Dell makes many more computers for you to choose from and purchase, and the capacitor problem has been resolved.

Yeah. I know.

Power save mode

Yes, you arent getting a signal to your monitor from your video card. Try replacing. If its onboard then the Mainboard may be bad. These machines are known by Dell to go bad and is covered under warranty, provided you still have it.

The message you are getting is coming from the monitor, not the P.C.

Its telling you you it went into power save since its not getting a video signal from the P.C. Check connections as well.

If your using any kind of splitter, remove it and connect monitor directly to P.C. to be sure.
Good luck

My desktop pc has gone into power save mode

Turn the whole pc off then back on. If the LCD stays in power save then I would try a diffrent monitor on the PC. If that fixes it the the monitor is probably stuck in power save. Check www.lcdrpair.us for parts and instructions.
