Overheating NVidia geforce 9800m GTS in a Gateway p7805u notebook. The problem occurs when im playing games specifically Dragon Age Origins. Now i have a Best Buy replacement plan for another year or so but im afraid they will say everything is running correctly and do nothing to solve my problem. I have already had the Hard Drive on this computer get fried once and had that recently replaced. Now im having trouble with the GPU when playing DA:O. The temperatures when playing peak at around 108 to 109 C and i have already tried Setting the powermizer settings to medium performance but i take a big hit in fps when adjusted to this setting. disabling powermizer leads to overheating in about 5 minutes of play or less when stress testing using furmark. if anyone has a viable solution to this problem i would greatly appreciate the assistance. thank you and be well.

No you dont, you just need to go to nvidia.com and download the latest drivers.
You should also check for new drivers every few weeks if you play many games.
You also dont have a 62 bit version of windows, its 32 bit of 64 bit.

I have a Gateway P-7811-FX and I had crashing issues myself. Two things.....try to find a series of drivers for the video but download several of themnot just the newer ones and experiment. Secondly, These laptops do not do a great job cooling without some help. Update the BIOS if you haven't already and put a 17" laptop cooler under the laptop....get a good one and don't go cheap, a good cooler will halt most of your crashes. I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Far Cry 2 on max settings now with no issues.

Hey, Basicly you have to go into you hard drive and find dragon age origins save data and from there you can delete the characters...

Well. usually that is caused by a speck of dirt or a smudge etc on DVD.. so clean, clean clean, and handle delicately... also try a Laser head clean.

install any other game and if that happens give back your set to sony
