Question about Coleman Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Where can I find a manual for my coleman cam II central air conditioner for a mobile home? I recently purchased the mobile home and would like to know what steps to ntake to make it work at its best. Also, I find it puzzling that the air filter is set on top of the unit inside the mobile home. It looks to my limited knowledge of central air, as if someone set the filter on top of the unit because they did'nt know the correct location placement. Can you provide any comments or advice? Thanks.

Check the website for Coleman/Intertherm for a manual, you will need the model and serial numbers of the unit. The filters for these typically sit on top of the unit, some come with frames, some lay directly on the coil. If you can't find a manual on the website or by contacting the company, check the yellow pages some towns have a mobile home supply house that would be able to help.

There is not an air filter in the unit and we have just purchased the home with the unit in it. I need to know where the filter goes, Tjis a coleman evcon central air unit

You should be able to open the lower panel on the Central Furnance unit and the filter would go against the side where the main cold air return plenum is located. There is usually either a slot/edge for the filter to slide into, or a set of clips or a wire spring that holds the filter in place, preventing it from getting sucked into the squirel cage blower.

If you want to give Coleman a call at 1-877-726-5362, I'm sure they'd send you a owners manual for your unit so you can see what periodic cleaning and such is needed to keep it working properly.

Hope you found this info helpful. Best Regards!

I have an old 1985-86 coleman central heat and air need manual

The filter is located before the blower if your Coleman is in a mobile home it will be in the door facing. If it is a standard ac/heat application and a regular residential furnace the blower in the cabinet on down flow (ducts in floor) will be above it and possible in the duct connecting in the top. If its the other way (ducts in ceiling) it could be right under the blower. Either of these could have a filter cabinet on the furnace or could have a filter grille at the end of the return air duct (where the air is sucked in).
