Bent firewire pins are common and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I’m a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I’m semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

If this response has been of any help to you, please be sure and give a positive vote for me on FixYa.com .

Pc card problem bent

It is likely that you did not damage the actual card, but rather the card port on the machine. It is possible that if none of the pins are actually broken, they could be straightened by a repair technician, though this is tedious and not often successful. If the pins cannot be straightened, it is likely that the main circuit board will need to be replaced. I would highly recommend taking your machine to a reputable sewing machien repair shop in your area for certain diagnosis and repair.

Xsi rebel will not read or reformat memory card

You need to have a look at the slot where the memory card goes in. Using a light, look down in the slot at the pins the match up to the card. There may be one or more bent or broken. If the pins are damaged, then it would be a major repair. Usually once they have bent, trying to straighten them back causes them to break off.

Could a firewire cable have bent the pins in sony trv19e

If the pins of the cable are broken, better to buy a new one. If the pins of the camara port are broken, a professional may be able to fix it.

Nintendo ds bent pins

The part with the damaged pins is the slot-1 port. I know it seems rediculous, but this part is too impractical for most people to attempt a repair.

However, if you are savvy enough to attempt the repair of the damaged pins on your DS Lite, here are my recommendations:
1) Cut a flap in the slot-1 port cover and straighten pins.
2) Replace the main board.
3) Remove the slot-1 port cover and straighten pins.
4) Remove the damaged pins from the slot-1 port and straighten.
5) Replace the slot-1 port.

All of these recommendations require disassembling the DS Lite using a specialized triwing (or Y) screwdriver and a lot of patience. The following video will help in disassembly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQlTpTLUyFQ.

Recommendations 3 to 5 all require solder work. Recommendation 3 requires solder work for 4 solder joints, 1 at each corner. Recommendation 4 requires solder work for up to 17 solder joints, one for each damaged pin. Recommendation 5 requires solder work for all 21 solder joints.

CF Card Err

Sounds like you have bent pins on your CF reader. Open the door, take out the card and look inside. Is there damage to the pins?

You maybe able to fix it with pincers and a needle just align the pin or pins that are out of place, i did this and it worked for me and now my camera is working fine. and for free.

Good luck

I had the same problem; I could insert the card but it wouldn't read. I Got a CF error message. I was going to get it fixed then I realised that the bent pin was touching the adjacent pin. So I intentionally broke-off the damaged pin... an now it works perfectly! Many of the pins on CF cards don't appear to function.

Obviously, only do this if the pins are touching and you can't bent the pin back straight. You could make thing worse by rummaging aroung the CF slot, but as I was going to send it away anyway, at some considerable cost, I had nothing to lose.

Plugging in the FireWire backward, especially if it's the 6-pin FireWire, will damage the unit's hardware. You need to contact technical support to arrange for repair.

4 port belkin kvm

The things that usually go wrong with KVMs are bent connector pins (usually mouse or keyboard) or the switch itself. Inspect the mouse connector for bent or corroded pins. They are easy to bend and straighten, however, they will eventually break off if you do it often enough. If you find one that is bent the safest way to straighten it is by using a .7 diameter mechanical pencil. Remove the lead, and work the pin carefully into the pencil barrel. Once you have the pin inside the pencil gently straighten it by moving the pencil vertical. If it?s not a bent or corroded pin there isn't a whole lot else you can do other than try to get a warranty replacement or if its expensive enough, repaired.
