Question about Swiss Army Wenger Sportedge Bracelet Watch

1 Answer

I have a wenger 79082 military watch. When I took it to a mall kiosk to have the battery replaced, the clerk took over a half hour trying to put a new battery in. The watch runs then stops often while wearing it. It runs fine when not wearing it. I suspect the clerk put the wrong replacement battery in it. Can you tell me what should be in it and how to fix this problem?

If its working when not wearing the watch, this its bit rare that battery is faulty. But yes it can be problem of weak battery or the battery is proper but not fitted properly. Its getting loose. As when you wear the watch on you hand the hand moves causing the battery to move in.So try one thing.Remove the battery from the watch then clean both the socket where battery is inserted and also clean the battery.Clean it with dry cloth. In the watch clean the battery socket with ear-bud or cotton piece. Then re-insert the battery and recheck. But if the problem is same then try with new replacement battery again. If the problem is same then its the problem of internal mechanism of watch. Some dust collected in between the tiny parts causing it to stop and not letting it to function properly. The watch needs a proper servicing for its internal parts.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Need correct replacement battery

the watch movement deters which battery the watch needs it is very important you do not put a battery in that doesn't suit the watch as it can short out the circuit however you can get the correct size in a gold seal quality which should not leak, also the older the watch, the more demanding the watch becomes on the battery as the movement components start to experience wear and tear

I will take it to a foreign kiosk in the mall. It took me 3.5 seconds to find it using Google. If ever have a Timex, Armitron, or something purchased at Rite Aid, I'll try back then. This watch retails for over $1899 which is most likely the problem. It probably won't take an Everedy, or the batteries retailing for .99 cents. I can try Tik-Tok who will have the battery here tomorrow.

My women's wenger swiss military watch stopped working. what should i do? do i need to change the battery?

If your watch is a "quartz" type and you have had it for some time (a year +?), then it seems likely that the battery has expired.

If it is still within the warranty period (usually a year), then it would be unusual for the battery to have died. Contact your local service agent to discuss it if this is the case.

Batteries are best replaced by an authorised dealer, it will cost more but this will ensure that that any water resistance is retained. Replacing the battery yourself can be more difficult that it appears so you are advised to go to a service agent.

You can locate your nearest service center by going to and filling in your details.

My atomic watch wll not let me to select the proper city code (NYC) or make any other selection to reset the time. It was great for four months after Christmas (a gift) but the battery ran out in April. ...

My best advice to you is to contact Dakota or send to Dakota. It may not be what you want to hear, but its probably going to be your best interest to send back to them so they can properly care for your watch.

Good luck.

Wenger Swiss Military Watch: small set-time handle fell off.

That small gizmo is called CROWN or WINDING CROWN. It is not possible to obtain it online, so, you have to shop around for it. Find your nearest watchmakers shop and ask for replacement. You may need stem as well.

I can not change the date on my Wenger Swiss Military Watch. How can I do this?

As you pull the mainstem out, there will be a position, a 'notch' if you will, whereby as the hour and minute hands are rotated the date will change. Rotate ONLY clockwise, and when the desired date appears, be sure to turn an additional 360 degree turn on the hands if you are setting the date in the afternoon. Otherwise, the date will lag by 12 hours.
