IBM ThinkPad R50e PC Notebook not working

Hi everybody,

When I was cleaning my laptop screen with a foam spray, some spray spill on the keyboard. Since then, my laptop is not switching on. But when I put the charger on current, I can see the battery charging indication LED is on.

Does this mean that the laptop motherboard is burnt?

The foam must have caused a shortcircuit on the board

I have a IBM thinkpad R50e for the last 6 years. It is not reading any CD or DVD, but says the device is working properly. Pl. help me.

I think it has failed.
Go to Control Panel...System... Device Manager... and locate CD or DVD Roms and UNINSTALL it. Then Reboot and it will automatically locate the CD / DVD Rom. You will have to acknowledge several screens wit naext and tes ect.

If it does not work, it's really easy to buy and replace.

Replacing the oroginal memory

Hi, if your PC is a IBM ThinkPad, you can lift the keyboard by unlocking both latches on the side of the computer (The same latches you use to open the screen) and then lifting the board in the same way as the LCD screen.
To access the memory you probably has to remove a sticker, some screws or even the Hard Disk Drive.
Tell us what model of notebook you have.
