Welcome to FixYa
Dear User
This error usually indicates a defective fuser. Turn offf printer for 20 minutes (to allow internal error circuit to reset) and try again. If the error persists, it could be due to a faulty thermistor, fuser heating element, or loose or open connection to the fuser. Sudden occurances are almost always the fuser assembly. The fuser assembly may be hot, allow to cool before removing it from the printer or injury may result. You can perform a heating element test by checking the resistance between the two heavy leads in the fuser connector. Resistance should read less than 100 ohms in most cases, an open circuit indicates a defective fuser. For low fuser temperature errors, check the smaller leads on the fuser connector to measure the thermistor resistance. At room temperature, you should read in the range of 50Kohms to 350Kohms at room temperature. It should not be an open circuit nor should it appear as a short circuit. In some cases this error can also be caused by a defective power supply or faulty DC controller board, but check the fuser first. The most cost effective method of repair is to replace the fuser assembly. Component parts are not readily available and fuser repair can become involved. Also be aware that early replacement of consumable fusers may require reset of the internal counters so the maintenance interval remains correct. Replacement fuser assemblies are available here- Fuser Assemblies or it may be time to consider a Maintenance Kit which contains the fuser assembly.

Hi,

Is it a Lexmark printer?

I have seen this error many times on Lexmark printers.

This error normally means that you need to replace the ITU. I am a bit hesitant to tell you to go and get one and replace it, because it is an expensive part (around $600). Sometimes this error can go off due to a problem with the second transfer roller.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

  • Anonymous Aug 30, 2010

    Thanks for your response!!

Have you followed the basic troubleshooting steps given by Lexmark :-

    http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=co...

    If
you have already purchased and installed a kit, the reason this error
is coming up is because the second transfer roll (small roller under the
    ITU) is not installed properly.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Phaser 7750 Not Printing, No Error codes, Fuser Wont Warm Up, Wont Detect Open Trays or Doors

It sounds like one of the cover or tray sensors is not working correctly. Check the actuator on the fuser cover, sometimes these break off so the printer thinks the cover is still open. If that seems ok and you have a lower tray deck unplug it to eliminate them as the cause.

# Teflon sleeve not rotation properly due to this paper not passing through it result curl foldings..Replace teflon sleeve..
2. If paper passed fuser assmebly little bit(near about 2-3 inches.
#Problem with paper out sensor/flag. clean sensor, check sensor flag movement & spring.
3. Check registration paper sensor located back side.
# while passing the paper, sensor flag has to act & once paper out it has to reach home, other wise paper jam error will appear.. check flag spring.

3. Touch Troubleshooting.
4. Touch Calibrate Scanner.
5. Touch Calibrate to print the first pass of the calibration target(Print out).
6. Place the first pass of the calibration target face-down in tray 1 so that the arrows are facing into the MFP.
7. Touch Start to print the second pass.
8. Place the calibration target face-up into the ADF, and adjust the side guides.
9. After the calibration target has passed through the ADF once, reposition it face down in the ADF and touch Start.
10. Place the calibration target face-down on the scanner glass, touch Start, and scan the page.
After this pass, the calibration is complete.
Calibration will fails if print quality is not good...ensure that print quality must be in order..
Once calibration successfully done, restart printer several times & verify start button light, if its green every time 'u' re success. if not cleaning required for CCD which is major work & not suggestable..

Error code SC542 on a Ricoh 3245

Hello, this code is : Fusing temp. warming-up error. This means that the fuser did not warm-up in the allowed time. Possible causing-- in order; Thermistor bad or out of position,
fuser lamp bad,
thermofuse bad,
BICU board defective,
power supply board bad,
poor fusing unit connection ----check this first if you had the fuser out of the machine.

If you would like to talk, I can see if we can try to reset the code -- sometimes if the machine is to cold at warm-up the code will throw. # 216-701-1591. Thank you.
