Part 10,6 and 12 are your idler pulley which puts the tension on the belt. The springs actually keep it tight. Check for sprung, loose or broken springs. If you've had the belt off you may have the idler arm in the wrong position. Here is the diagram of your parts.

You'll have to find where the spring connects to the idler arm and the frame of the motor housing or washer frame. Then when the idler pulley is in the proper position it will be pushing belt away from the
from the motor keeping it tight. Look for shinny spots where the spring was connected.

I have a top loader AMANA wash machine and its making a loud noise, and when I took the front panel off there was oil on the bottom of the washier is that from the transmission

Yes the transmission is the only place for oil to come from. There are rebuild kits availabe if your mechanically inclined and can do this work yourself, if not you need to call a technician.

My clothes don't always spin out. have to put through spin cycle several times. It doesnt happen all the time. Im figuring its the V belt what do you think

Yes the vbelt (part# 27001007 )could be worn, as could the idler roller (#40045001 ) , and arm (#27001028).
However if you find traces of oil as in motor oil your gearbox/transmission is leaking and you may as well start searching for a new unit as the transmission is around $230 and not a quick/easy chore to change..
best of luck, have fun,

How does the motor and pump connect? are the 2

The pump is connected to the motor with a torx or star bit. I believe it is a T20 size. Unplug the washer and be careful as some of these washers have a capacitor that can shock you very badly. The easiest way to get to it is; remove the belt from the drive pully remove the 4 bolts holding the motor to the washer and turn the motor bottom towards you. Then remove the 3 torz screws from the pump and the pump then pulls off of the motor shaft. Look at the location of the belt for reference before removing the pump. reassemble and you are back in business.

Putting belt on top load amana washer moder #unknown

There is a large pulley directly under the washer drum that runs the transmission. There is a small one connected to the motor shaft, and a third which is attached to a spring-arm and acts as a tensioner.

Pay attention to the direction the tensioner moves. The back of the belt should go against the inside of the tensioner when it is released.

The easiest way I've found to get the belt back on is to thread it around the small pulley, and tensioner, then start it on one side of the large pulley, and rotate the large pulley to allow the belt to thread onto it.

Hope this helps.

Washer belt

To replace the belt on your Amana washer, pull the unit forward then tilt the top of it back to about a 45 degree angle. Once you get the right angle, the unit will rest against the wall behind it instead of falling forward. Take your new belt (availble through local appliance parts stores or on line from the manufactures web site) and first put it in the track around the large pulley, then the track on the smaller pulley on the right. Lastly, the pulley on your left should be moveable. Move the final pulley so that you can get the belt over it. It will then move back to a tensioning position.

Amana ALW480DAW washer

Remove the front panel by loosening the two screws that hold it in place. Unhook the spring that puts tension on the tension pulley. Remove old/worn belt and replace with new belt. Very important that you use the correct size belt or the motor may be damaged and remember to hook the spring back for the tension pulley. The new belt has to go around the inside of the tension pulley.
