Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer
The "rainbow" WordArt doesn't print correctly on our HP Color LaserJet 2840. Instead of the rainbow filler just filling in the letter shapes, it puts rectangles of color behind the shapes. I've tried printing the same thing on two black and white printers we have, and it prints fine (grayscale, of course). I have tried the troubleshooting section of the HP product site and making the printer driver print what the screen shows, but the preferences dialog doesn't give me that option anywhere. (I put LaserJet 2600n Printer in the "Product" box because the 2840 wasn't listed.)
Have you tried prinitng this in MONO on your 2840 printer.
Does Wordart from Word or other office programs cause this?
If it is the office suite, then look at downloading some service packs from Microsoft.
If it's just your 2840 doing it, then look at downloading a different driver.
For some printers there are different types of PCL drivers, like PCL5 or PCL6, these do behave differently per printer, so swapping the driver might not be a bad idea.
Also check if you are using a PS or Postscript driver, but again, try the PCL alternative for your printer.
I would install the different driver under another name, for testing, then if it works just delete the bad one.
