Whenever i plug in both the headphone and the mic, it randomly disconnects my headset speakers and doesnt even pick up my mic. When i plug in just the headphone i hear sounds but it doesnt pick up mic....

You have to firstly test your head phones on another computer.... If it works in another computer than firstly update your anti virus program and then re install your drivers.... If it does not solve the problem you can re plug the cable of sound card on mother board... If problem does not solved than your sound card might have problem.

Realteck mic problem

Well, if it's working when you record sound, then there might be settings related problem with the skype or yahoo messenger etc... Let's get started with the "skype" open your skype - sign in - click on "tools" select "options", on the left pane of the options windows, click "audio settings" and now on the right pane, check the "microphone" settings and verify it's set to "Realtek High Definition Audio", if it's not, do so now. click "Save". You can set the volume manually by uncheking the "automatically adjust microphone settings" and turn up the volume slider. Do the same with the yahoo messenger, but you can't set this before you log in. In yahoo messenger you need to go to the "preferences" - "Video and Voice" from the "Messenger" menu. Also make sure, that "digital input or output" isn't selected.
Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

No mic detected

try to check the mic volume on the program that your using. look for the settings of it. like in YM there is a test for mic to configure the minimum and maximum level that fits and suited on your hearing sound.

No mic

Make sure the volume for the mix isn't muted. Also make sure the software you are using to make calls is set-up to the proper audio input. Make sure it's set to mic and not line-in or something else.

Also test using an audio recording program like audacity to test your mic.
