Question about Saeco Vienna De Luxe Espresso Machine
I’ve had a Saeco Vienna De Luxe machine for many years. On a regular basis I clean the brew group and associated parts.
Recently I had to get my machine repaired and the shop owner told me I needed to be cleaning the grinder on a regular basis as well. So I cleaned the grinder. I followed all of the directions, cleaned everything, installed the rings at the “zero position” and made a test cup of espresso.
The grind was super coarse, not fine as it should be. I’ve adjusted the grind using the knob on the machine and verified that the adjustment ring has moved. Still, I seem to just get this coarse grind that results in a weak cup o coffee.
You could have knocked it out of its shaft or worse, Cracked the shaft itself.
Settings could be off too, It fairly common. Recheck the chamber, and make sure the plastic casing isn't cracked and the grinder doesn't wabble at all. It should be fairly firm.
If it isn't firm, bad news, cracked shaft.
