The camera has damp inside it,,,,like its wet!,,,,it needs to dry out...the due warning is telling you this...just leave it in a warm place but dont go cooking it? then switch it on and leave it on till the due warning light go's off

When startup show the messaje "WARNING DEW DETECTED" and 5 seconds later shutdown

Dew warning is normal and means condensation has been detected the camera. Usually this happens when you take the camera from a warm room to a cold external place or vice versa. Wait for about an hour or so for the camera to acclimatise.

Get "DEW DETECTED" warning on screen, powers off.

Also try this, take the bottom cabinet off, with the lcd panel facing you and the camera turned upside down and the cassette housing pointing away from you you will see 2 wide gold cables plugged into the right side of the board, realitively the same size, the gold cable that is between the main pcb and the mechanism assy is the control cable pull it our of the connector and clean it with alcohol, you can even take it one step further and evenly trim just a hair of the cable off all the way across just so that it has a new place to set. This has worked for me over 100 times in the past years. Seasoned camcorder technician 13 years experience.

Camcorder panasonic displays dew detect in red

Eject the tape. Leave the tape carriage open. Power the unit off and tent it with a light linen cloth for about 20 minutes in a warm but obviously low humidity area. Emergency/ short time approach: Clean hair blow-dryer. Set for warm/low heat. Turn on and "wave" the warm air into the tape mechanism section about 18 to 12 inches away from the camera's open gate/door. Bake for 3-5 minutes..

DEW DETECTED / EJECT TAPE

I know that this sounds odd but the fix is to remove the battery and hit the camcorder on the back (where the battery was) with the palm or your hand. Put the batter back and it will work. I found this soluation a a CNET web site solution. I don't know why it works.

Where are you keeping that camera? I would return this camera if it keeps happening (before warranty expire).

Dew detected

This may sound stupid, but it worked for me.

Turn your camera on. When you get the dew detected warning, take your battery off and just hit the spot where your battery was a few times with your palm, not too hard, but not really soft. Put the battery back on and it should be fixed unless you actually do have a dew problem!

If that doesn't work, try drying it out with a hair dryer.
